Allegheny Airlines ( now US Airways ) and Henson began one of the world's first code sharing arrangements in 1967, and Henson re-branded itself as an Allegheny Commuter carrier using Beechcraft 99 aircraft.

With designer Ted Wells, they developed the first aircraft under the Beechcraft name, the classic Model 17 Staggerwing, which first flew in November 1932.

Other important Beech planes are the King Air / Super King Air line of twin-engine turboprops, in production since 1964, the Baron, a twin-engine variant of the Bonanza, and the Beechcraft Model 18, originally a business transport and commuter airliner from the late 1930s through the 1960s, which remains in active service as a cargo transport.

* 1941 – Philippine Airlines, the flag carrier of the Philippines took its first flight between Manila ( from Nielson Field ) to Baguio City with a Beechcraft Model 18 making the airline the first and oldest commercial airline in Asia operating under its original name.

Jet engines were applied after World War II, in such types as the Teledyne Ryan Firebee I of 1951, while companies like Beechcraft also got in the game with their Model 1001 for the United States Navy in 1955.

During the 1960s to 1980s, typical destinations were Springfield and Carbondale, and typical aircraft were the Beechcraft Model 99 and Piper PA-31 Navajo.

* August 25 – Bar Harbor Airlines Flight 1808, a Beechcraft Model 99, crashes at Auburn, Maine, while on final approach to Auburn / Lewiston Municipal Airport, killing all eight people on board ; among them is 13-year-old Samantha Smith, an American school girl who had become famous as a " Goodwill Ambassador " to the Soviet Union and who had been cast on the television show Lime Street.

From 1996 the fleet of piston-powered aircraft were replaced with more modern turboprop aircraft, and by 2000 the fleet consisted of one Beechcraft Model 99 and three Hawker Siddeley 748 Series 2As.

The most popular V-tailed aircraft in mass production was the Beechcraft Bonanza Model 35, often known as the V-tail Bonanza or simply V-Tail.

In the 1990s, the embargo was lifted and the Lockheed L-188 Electras ( civilian aircraft converted for maritime patrol ) were finally retired and replaced with similar P-3B Orions and civilian Beechcraft King Air Model 200 were locally converted to the MP variant.

They were replaced by Beechcraft Model B200 Super King Airs leased from Pacific Aeromotive.

During the 1960s the airline operated a Beechcraft Model 99 and six Convair 600s, along with the inevitable DC-3s.

* Skyway Airlines ( The Midwest Express Connection ) served MBS in the 1990s with service to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, using the Beechcraft 1900 turboprop aircraft.

On December 21, 2006, it was announced that Big Sky Airlines would become a Delta Connection carrier, using eight Beechcraft 1900 turboprops out of Billings, MT, Billings Logan International Airport.

In this previous incarnation before its divestiture Continental Express flew turbo-prop aircraft such as the Embraer EMB 120 Brasilia, Convair 580, ATR 42 / 72, de Havilland Canada Dash 7, Fokker F27 and Beechcraft 1900.

In 2001, a chartered Sociedade de Aviacao Ligeira Beechcraft 1900 crashed into a mountain while attempting to land at Lubango.

* November 19 – While landing at Quincy Regional Airport in Quincy, Illinois, United Express Flight 5925, a Beechcraft 1900 operated by Great Lakes Aviation, collides at an intersection between two runways with a Beechcraft King Air on its takeoff roll, killing all 12 people aboard the United Express flight and both people in the King Air.

In spring 2006, citing rising fuel costs, the airline announced it would be ceasing scheduled passenger operations to focus on its sightseeing flights, thus abandoning its scheduled services using its fleet of three Beechcraft 1900 aircraft.

During the 1980s, the airport was a hub for the commuter airline Brockway Air, which operated a fleet of Fokker F-27 and Beechcraft 1900 tuboprop aircraft.

Until April 5, 2008, it operated as a regional airline under the business name Midwest Connect, feeding Midwest Airlines's hub at General Mitchell International Airport with twelve 32-seat Fairchild-Dornier 328JET jet aircraft, and four 19-seat Beechcraft 1900 turboprops.

The 328JETs allowed Skyway to provide new service to cities as far as Hartford, New York City, Washington, D. C., and Raleigh-Durham, and to provide more comfortable passenger accommodations on routes previously served by the Beechcraft 1900.

Skyway planned to transition to an all-jet fleet by obtaining additional 328JET aircraft, purchasing German manufacturer Fairchild Dornier's planned 44-seat version, known as the 428JET, and phasing out the Beechcraft 1900.

This interrupted Skyway's plans to further expand its jet fleet and replace the Beechcraft 1900.

Without having an available replacement aircraft, Skyway began to draw down its Beechcraft 1900 fleet, planning to eventually eliminate that fleet.

In September 2009, the airline ceased flight operations when the single aircraft in operation, a Beechcraft 1900 airliner reached the maximum flight hours before a major service was mandated.
