He and his co-star Noel Neill provided commentary on several Adventures of Superman episodes for the January 2006 DVD release of the 1953 season, and in 2006, he appears in Bryan Singer's film Superman Returns in a cameo role as " Bo the Bartender "; it was rumored prior to the film's release that his role would actually be Suicide Slum resident and Superman fan, Bibbo Bibbowski, a supporting character from the modern Superman comics.

Bibbo first appears in a Suicide Slum bar called the Ace O ' Clubs.

* Bibbo briefly appears as the owner of the Ace of Clubs in the Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman episode " Double Jeopardy " played by Troy Evans.

When Doomsday and Superman ultimately kill each other, Bibbo is on the scene.

The episode " Schooled " features a scene set in a Metropolis diner called " Bibbo's " with Bibbo himself making a brief non-speaking cameo in the kitchen.

When Superman comes in looking for information Bibbo, thinking this is " some clown in a Superman suit ", punches Superman, damaging his hand.

Bibbo attempts assistance when Superman becomes involved in a drawn-out fight against the murderous Doomsday.

Shortly afterward, Bibbo encounters a young man who, his family rendered homeless by Doomsday's rampage, is blatantly selling " Death of Superman " commemorative souvenirs during a public commemoration honoring the Man of Steel.

While Superman is gone, Bibbo takes to putting on a ' disguise ' of sorts and helping out on the streets.

Bibbo makes a reappearance in Superman # 679, shown as one of the champions of Metropolis that the villainous Atlas defeated.

Bibbo plays an important part in the alternate universe story Superman: The Dark Side.

Originally, Bibbo had wanted to name the dog " Krypton " after Superman's home planet.

However, the engraver of the dog tag ( knowing that Bibbo had recently won the lottery ) intentionally dropped the letter " n " (" Six letters or less for 1 dollar "), so he was trying to extort more money from Bibbo ; an angry Bibbo refused to comply and renamed the dog " Krypto.
