Blackridge is defined as the territory bounded on the West by Graham Boulevard, on the South by William Penn Highway, on the East by Beulah Road and the Churchill Country Club property, from the Churchill Country Club property along Orlando Place to Atkinson Place, Atkinson Place to Pine Way, and Pine Way to Graham Boulevard, and shall include the properties fronting on both sides of said portions of Country Club Drive, Orlando Place, Atkinson Place and Pine Way.

Crichton was born in Ireland and served in the New Zealand forces but grew up in the hamlet of Northrigg by Blackridge, West Lothian, Scotland.

The Lothian and Borders Police area stretches from Blackridge in the west to Newcastleton in the south.

However, senior politicians of all main parties have voiced concerns in regard to the West Lothian Question, which is raised where certain policies for England are set by MPs from all four constituent nations whereas similar policies for Scotland or Wales might be decided in the devolved assemblies by legislators from those countries alone.

He represented West Lothian from 1962 to 1983, then Linlithgow from 1983 to 2005.

Born in Edinburgh, but raised in his mother, Nora Dalyell's family home, The Binns, near Linlithgow, West Lothian ; his father ( Percy ) Gordon Loch, C. I. E., was an Empire civil servant ( Political Agent ) and a scion of the Loch family.

He became a Member of Parliament in June 1962, when he defeated William Wolfe of the Scottish National Party in a hard fought by-election for West Lothian.

He was opposed to Scottish devolution and first posed the famous " West Lothian question ", although it was given its name by Enoch Powell.
