* June 5 – Carmine Crocco, Italian brigand ( d. 1905 )

Carmine Crocco from Rionero in Vulture was the most important chief in the region and the most impressive leader in south Italy.

During the brigand age of southern Italy, the castle was captured by Carmine Crocco ( 1861 ) and used as his base.

Here brigand Carmine Crocco was imprisoned until his death for his revolution against the reign of Victor Emmanuel II and the anarchist Giovanni Passannante who attempted to kill king Umberto I.

Placido was born at Ascoli Satriano into a poor family from Rionero in Vulture, Basilicata ; he is a descendant of the known brigand Carmine Crocco.

People imprisoned included Carmine Crocco, the most important brigand during the Italian unification, and the anarchist Gaetano Bresci, who killed King Umberto I in 1900.

After the Italian unification, Rionero gave the birth to Carmine Crocco, the most well-known brigand of that period.

In April 1861, sided with the robbers led by Carmine Crocco, on this occasion there was the first victim: the National Guard captain Michael Anastasia.

In 1861 it was occupied by the Briganti under the command of Carmine Crocco.

Among these houses, Bevacqua remember the Villa Villa and Cumbo, S. Marina, and the ancient church of ' Spadafora, S. Peter. Among the most famous are those of the Fatherland Fallen Milazzo ( located in Piazza Roma and erected in 1924 ), the source of the mythical and ancient Apple ( opposite the Church of the Carmine ), the ' Statue of Liberty, built in honor of Garibaldi, the Statue of Luigi Rizzo, the monument Milazzo Bridge, erected to commemorate the famous battle of 20 July 1860 ; the large floor mosaic depicting the coat of arms, located in the Atrium of the Carmine.

* Costello has been portrayed in several movies by actors James Andronica in Gangster Wars ( 1981 ), Carmine Caridi in Bugsy ( 1991 ), Costas Mandylor in Mobsters ( 1991 ), and by Kirk Baltz in the television movie Kingfish: A Story of Huey P. Long ( 1995 ).

The EFSA had raised concerns, over the increasing number of allergic reactions to Carmine derived from insects ( E120. 360 ), when used within the British pharmacopeia.

The second, Christopher Chance, first appears in Action Comics # 419 ( December 1972 ), and was created by Len Wein and Carmine Infantino.

Despite inker Murphy Anderson, and penciller Carmine Infantino stating that Schwartz never acknowledged any relationship to Plastic Man, it's commonly claimed that he said that if he had known that DC owned the name " Plastic Man " ( acquired in 1956 along with other Quality Comics properties ), he'd never have chosen Elongated Man as the name for his own character ..

It appeared in Animal House ( Mayor Carmine DePasto owns an Oldsmobile dealership and allows his vehicles to be used during the parade ), Trading Places ( Duke & Duke limousine ), Thriller ( Jackson's car ), Twilight Zone: The Movie ( during Prologue ), Into the Night ( Diana's brother's car ), The Blues Brothers ( while driving through the mall, Elwood said: " The new Oldsmobiles are in early this year "), The Three Amigos ( during scenes in Santo Poco ), and Oscar.

Masaccio returned in 1427 to work again in the Carmine, beginning the Resurrection of the Son of Theophilus, but apparently left it, too, unfinished, though it has also been suggested that the painting was severely damaged later in the century because it contained portraits of the Brancacci family, at that time excoriated as enemies of the Medici.

* Two actors who appear in the film played different character roles in other Godfather films ; Carmine Caridi, who plays Carmine Rosato, also went on to play crime boss Albert Volpe in The Godfather Part III, and Frank Sivero, who plays a young Genco Abbandando, appears as a bystander in The Godfather scene in which Sonny beats up Carlo for abusing Connie.

Scarecrow appears in Batman: The Long Halloween, first seen escaping from Arkham on Mother's Day with help from Carmine Falcone, who also helps the Mad Hatter break out.

One of Tintoretto's early pictures still extant is in the church of the Carmine in Venice, the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple ; also in S. Benedetto are the Annunciation and Christ with the Woman of Samaria.
