The playable races in the original video game version of Blood Bowl included Dwarfs, Wood Elves, Humans, Goblins, Orcs, Chaos, Skaven, and Lizardmen.

Dwarfs are the greatest craftsmen in the Warhammer World, a skill largely matched by the Chaos Dwarfs who split from their brothers after being corrupted by Chaos.

Although Hashut is mentioned in much of the Chaos Dwarf background, he is only called a Chaos god within the rules-specific section of White Dwarf Presents: Chaos Dwarfs.

Within the history of the game, the black orcs were created magically from the ordinary orc by Chaos Dwarf sorcerers in an attempt to engineer a superior slave ( chaos dwarf generals were allowed to field many orc and goblin units in their armies ).

Until 2010 the only Chaos Dwarf models in production were the crew of the Hellcannon in the Warriors of Chaos army, until Warhammer Forge was publicly announced and included in their sample models were the Chaos Dwarf Engineer, Steam Engine Skullcracker and several other Chaos Dwarf models.
