The dead male officer has been identified as a 25-year-old Indian Malaysian, who had been working for the company for three years. According to The Straits Times, the officer was on relief duty earlier at Citibank branch in the shopping mall, where he had been deployed as an Armed Security officer. On 23 April 2002, 50-year-old officer, Constable R. Sathasivam, shot himself in the head after failing in his attempt to murder his estranged wife at her workplace in the Institute of South East Asian Studies.
