In memorial of this " Hour of birth of democracy ", the 11th August was created as Constitution Day, because the President of the Empire, Friedrich Ebert, signed the constitution on this day.

There has only been one referendum and that was for the 2007 Constitution of Thailand.

Voter turnout during elections is not much of a problem in Thailand as voting is compulsory and is one of the responsibilities described in the Constitution a citizen must exercise.
