William Henry Cutten ( 1822 – 1883 ) was a New Zealand politician from the Otago Region.

Cutten was a son-in-law of William Cargill, perhaps the most prominent of Otago's early settlers.

In the state legislature Cutten is located in the 2nd Senate District, represented by Democrat Noreen Evans, and in the 1st Assembly District, represented by Democrat Wesley Chesbro.

Called " a forerunner of the Livermore and Cutten operations of a few years later " by historian Robert Sobel, the March 1920 corner of The Stutz Motor Company is an example of a manipulated corner ruining everyone involved, especially its originator Thomas Fortune Ryan.

Cutten is a census-designated place ( CDP ) in Humboldt County, California, United States.

The first post office at Cutten opened in 1929.

The 2010 United States Census reported that Cutten had a population of 3, 108.

The racial makeup of Cutten was 2, 628 ( 84. 6 %) White, 27 ( 0. 9 %) African American, 119 ( 3. 8 %) Native American, 80 ( 2. 6 %) Asian, 11 ( 0. 4 %) Pacific Islander, 78 ( 2. 5 %) from other races, and 165 ( 5. 3 %) from two or more races.

Federally, Cutten is located in California's 1st congressional district.

Cutten served in the 1st New Zealand Parliament as representative for the Dunedin Country electorate – 1855, but resigned before the end of his term.

Cutten and Julius ( later Sir Julius ) Vogel during the boom following the discovery of gold at the Tuapeka, the first of the Otago goldrushes.

Cutten was the publisher of a weekly newspaper, the Otago Witness, which was founded in 1851, and the strong political views of co-founder Vogel saw an outlet in the ODT's pages, notably with advocacy for provincial government.

The first white settlers, the Cutten brothers, came to Mission Beach area in 1882 and settled at Bingil Bay, where they farmed mangoes, bananas, pineapples, coffee, citrus fruit and coconuts.

After the Cutten brothers, the Unsworths settled at Narragon Beach, the Garners came and settled at Garners Beach, and the Porter brothers settled at what the locals refer to as Porter's Creek ( also called Wongaling Creek ) at the south end of North Mission Beach.
