The Kings Contrivance Village Center underwent major construction in 2007 and 2008 when a new Harris Teeter supermarket was added to the center, but maintained the original character of stores around a central corridor and plaza.

In 1973 Chucalissa Indian Village was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Currently the two-lane combined highway of 82, 65 and 278 inside of the city limits of Lake Village is being converted to a four-lane highway, with an added stoplight and sidewalks on both sides of the road.

These stores were added around 2000 next to the old Wilton Center, which consists of the Wilton Library, the Wilton Post Office, a CVS / Pharmacy, a hardware store, the Old Post Office Square, and the Village Market.

As a result, the town added 600 inhabitants during the 1950s ( with the construction of the Cedar Ridge development ) and three times that amount in the 1960s ( with the opening of the Kingswood / Meadow Wood development near The Village ).

The largest parcel annexed came in 1991 when was added to the Village with the property in the northwest corner of Sauk Trail and the Calumet Expressway was finally added to the Village.

The Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, including the Village Hall ( Bank of Grand Cane ) which gained National Register status earlier in 1988. The Historic District Status is important, as it recognizes the fact that the exterior of the buildings in this short block a half have remained much the same as when they were built around the turn-of-the-century.

They added to the mounds, including a residence for their chief, the " Great Sun ", on Mound B, and a combined temple and charnel house for the elite on Mound C. Many early European explorers, including Hernando De Soto, La Salle and Bienville, made contact with the Natchez at this site, called the Grand Village of the Natchez.
