The sculpture is a work by Marianne Lindberg De Geer.

In May 1940 Queen Wilhelmina escaped to London ; the Dutch government under Prime Minister De Geer would follow a day later, after the German invasion.

This led to a conflict between De Geer and the Queen.

De Geer wanted to return to the Netherlands and collaborate as well.

Louis De Geer, the architect behind the new bicameral Parliament of 1866 that replaced the centuries old Riksdag of the Estates, became the first officeholder in 1876.

Baron Louis Gerhard De Geer of Finspång ( 18 July 181824 September 1896 ) was a Swedish statesman and writer.

De Geer was born at Finspång manor.

His son Louis De Geer was also prime minister of Sweden for a short period.

For some time after this De Geer enjoyed considerable popularity.

Besides several novels and aesthetic essays, De Geer has written a few political memoirs of supreme merit both as to style and matter, the most notable of which are: Minnesteckning öfver A. J. v. Höpken ( Stockholm, 1881 ); Minnesteckning öfver Hans Järta ( Stockholm, 1874 ); Minnesteckning öfver B.

De Geer was a member in the Swedish Academy from 1862, on Seat 17.

" F. G .", perhaps one of the two Guthries, published the question in The Athenaeum in 1854, and De Morgan posed the question again in the same magazine in 1860.
