Drake left Plymouth on 24 May 1572, with a crew of 73 men in two small vessels, the Pascha ( 70 tons ) and the Swan ( 25 tons ), to capture Nombre de Dios.

However, the 17th century mestizo de sangley poet Carlos Calao mentions Lapu-Lapu under the name of " Cali Pulaco " in his poem Que Dios Le Perdone ( That God May Forgive Him ).

Juan de Dios Orozco was the 14th President ( then called Supreme Director ) of Nicaragua from 1 April to 31 May 1843.
