In June 1988 the band recorded its debut EP Fugazi ( or 7 Songs ) with producer Ted Nicely and producer / engineer Don Zientara ( who would become a long-time collaborator ), and shortly afterwards embarked on an arduous tour of Europe.

Fugazi recorded its third album In on the Kill Taker in the fall of 1992 with Steve Albini in Chicago ; however, the results were deemed unsatisfactory and the band re-recorded the album with Ted Nicely & Don Zientara.

The band worked with engineer Don Zientara, but did not choose to work with producer Ted Nicely again.

By March 1997 Fugazi had once again returned to Inner Ear Studios with producer / engineer Don Zientara to begin recording what would become the End Hits album with the intention of taking a more relaxed approach to recording and a longer amount of time to experiment with different songs and techniques in the studio.

The band once again worked with producer / engineer Don Zientara.

The EPs compiled were Fugazi ( 1988 ), which was recorded at Inner Ear Studios in June 1988 with Ted Nicely & Don Zientara, and Margin Walker ( 1989 ), which was recorded in December 1988 at Southern Studios in London with John Loder handling production duties.

The band wrote all the material for the EP which was produced and engineered by Don Zientara.

The band once again worked with producer / engineer Don Zientara.

They were introduced to engineer and owner Don Zientara ( the studio consisted of just a four-track recorder at Zientara's house ).

They were now faced with two options: to divide the money between each member, or press the recordings they had made with Don Zientara at Inner Ear.

As a result of not having an outside producer besides engineer Don Zientara, the albums recording and mixing sessions were tough on the band.

It was engineered by Don Zientara and produced by Ian MacKaye.

It was released on June 30, 1993 through Dischord Records and was recorded at Inner Ear Studios and produced by Ted Nicely and Don Zientara.

However, the group ended up recording a whole albums worth of material, but were ultimately unhappy with their performances and re-recorded the entire album in Washington D. C. at Inner Ear Studios with Don Zientara and Ted Nicely handling production duties.
