The video game Enter the Matrix, which was released on May 15, and a collection of nine animated shorts, The Animatrix, which was released on June 3, supported and expanded the storyline of the movie.

Enter the Matrix is the first video game based on The Matrix series of films.

Released in 2003, Enter the Matrix was simultaneously produced with The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions films.
