The Center for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship was setup in the institute with support from the Government of Gujarat and Department of Science and Technology to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in India.

These thematic areas include Ageing and Health, Informatics and the Environment, Creative Media, Music and Entrepreneurship, with the emerging area of nanoscience being explored as a potential growth area.

Entrepreneurship Cell ( E-Cell ) is a student's organisation, functioning under STEP ( Science and Technology Entrepreneurs ' Park ), from within the Institute, with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship among students throughout India.

It conducts two major events, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit ( GES ), which is a three-day event, held in January at the institute, and the Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive ( EAD ), a 20-day event, consisting of guest lectures in 20 cities across India.
