" Epiphanies " is an episode from the fourth season of the science-fiction television series Babylon 5.

Besides for the obvious cosmetic difference, Epiphanies feature a metal exoskeleton and frame ( with plating, to avoid threading problems ), upgraded Firebolt, Freak barrel starter, integrated ASA dovetail, Q-Lock Feed Neck ( Eos only ), and Smartvalve ASA among other things.

New evidence from Babylon has verified the existence of Belshazzar, the name first given in Daniel 5: 1, as well as his co-regency during the absence of his father, Nabonidus, in Temâ.

Another important passage was Isaiah 40: 3 – 5, which imagines the exiled Israel proceeding home to Jerusalem on a newly-constructed road, led by the victorious Yahweh who has conquered the gods of Babylon.

In Esther 2: 5 – 6, either Mordecai or his great-grandfather Kish is identified as having been exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar in 597 BCE: " Mordecai son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, who had been carried into exile from Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, among those taken captive with Jeconiah king of Judah.

In the 1990s, he had the role of Lennier in the syndicated sci-fi TV series Babylon 5, and he also served as narrator of A & E Network's Emmy Award-winning series, Biography.

He is perhaps best known for his role as Will Robinson on the CBS science fiction television series Lost in Space ( 1965 – 1968 ), as well as for his role as ambassadorial aide Lennier in the syndicated series Babylon 5 ( 1994 – 1998 ).

He also created the band The Be Five with other Babylon 5 actors, and fronts another band called Seduction of the Innocent.

Michael Moorcock's fantasy novel The War Hound and the World's Pain depicts a supernatural Grail quest set in the era of the Thirty Years ' War, and science fiction has taken the Quest into interstellar space, figuratively in Samuel R. Delany's 1968 novel Nova, and literally on the television shows Babylon 5 and Stargate SG-1 ( as the " Sangraal ").

The television series Star Trek: The Next Generation ( 1987 ) began a torrent of new SF shows, including three further Star Trek spin-off shows and Babylon 5.

An avid fan of the science fiction TV series Babylon 5, he appeared in the season 4 episode " Moments of Transition " as a character named " Mr. Adams ," who hires former head of security Michael Garibaldi to locate his megalomaniacal dog and cat.

The pilot episode aired just weeks before the debut of Babylon 5.

The creator of Babylon 5, J. Michael Straczynski, indicated that Paramount was aware of his concept as early as 1989, when he attempted to sell the show to the studio, and provided them with the series bible, pilot script, artwork, lengthy character background histories, and " synopses to about 22 or so planned episodes taken from the overall course of the planned series ".

Paramount passed on Babylon 5, but later announced Deep Space Nine was in development two months after Warner Bros. announced its plans for Babylon 5.

The hymn to Hermes, fr308 ( b ), was quoted by Hephaestion ( grammarian ) and both he and Libanius, the rhetorician, quoted the first two lines of fr. 350, celebrating the return from Babylon of Alcaeus ' brother.

The vision in the first year of Belshazzar the king of Babylon ( 7: 1 ) concerning four great beasts ( 7: 3 ) representing four future kings ( 7: 17 ) or kingdoms ( 7: 23 ), the fourth of which devours the whole earth, treading it down and crushing it ( 7: 23 ).

He alienated the powerful priests of Marduk, the official god of Babylon, by taking up the worship of Sin, the god of Harran ( a city in northern Mesopotamia ), absenting himself for long periods from the city and neglecting crucial ceremonies.

Successive legal codes in Babylon, including the code of Hammurabi ( c. 1790 BC ), reflected Mesopotamian society's belief that law derived from the will of the gods ( see Babylonian law ).

One shows Babylon on the Euphrates, surrounded by a circular landmass showing Assyria, Urartu and several cities, in turn surrounded by a " bitter river " ( Oceanus ), with seven islands arranged around it.

In the preface to the law code, he states, " Anu and Bel called by name me, Hammurabi, the exalted prince, who feared Marduk, the chief god of Babylon ( The Human Record, Andrea & Overfield 2005 ), to bring about the rule in the land.

Of his cult at Eridu, which goes back to the oldest period of Mesopotamian history, nothing definite is known except that his temple was also associated with Ninhursag's temple which was called Esaggila, " the lofty head house " ( E, house, sag, head, ila, high ; or Akkadian goddess = Ila ), a name shared with Marduk's temple in Babylon, pointing to a staged tower or ziggurat ( as with the temple of Enlil at Nippur, which was known as E-kur ( kur, hill )), and that incantations, involving ceremonial rites in which water as a sacred element played a prominent part, formed a feature of his worship.

Pioneers such as Horace Ové had been working in 1970s ( Pressure, 1975, funded by the British Film Institute ), but the 1980s saw a wave of new talent, with films like Babylon ( 1980 ), Burning an Illusion ( 1981 ), Majdhar ( 1985 ) and Ping Pong ( 1986-one of the first films about Britain's Chinese community ).

There is also a strong probability that for most or all of the period the temple at Bethel in Benjamin replaced that at Jerusalem, boosting the prestige of Bethel's priests ( the Aaronites ) against those of Jerusalem ( the Zadokites ), now in exile in Babylon.

The exile community in Babylon thus became the source of significant portions of the Hebrew Bible: Isaiah 40 – 55, Ezekiel, the final version of Jeremiah, the work of the Priestly source in the Pentateuch, and the final form of the history of Israel from Deuteronomy to 2 Kings Theologically, they were responsible for the doctrines of individual responsibility and universalism ( the concept that one god controls the entire world ), and for the increased emphasis on purity and holiness.

The term appears in the context of an oracle against a dead king of Babylon, who is addressed as הילל בן שחר ( hêlêl ben šāḥar ), rendered by the King James Version as " Lucifer, son of the dawn " and by others as " morning star, son of the dawn ".

The primary language of Babylon ( and the administrative and cultural language of the Sassanid Empire ) at that time was Eastern Middle Aramaic, which included three main dialects: Judeo-Aramaic ( the language of the Talmud ), Mandaean Aramaic ( the language of the Mandaean religion ), and Syriac Aramaic, which was the language of Mani, as well as of the Syriac Christians.
