# Judgment on Jerusalem and Judah ( Ezekiel 4: 1 – 24: 27 ) and on the nations ( Ezekiel 25: 1 – 32: 32 ): Yahweh warns of the certain destruction of Jerusalem and the devastation of the nations that have troubled his people, the Ammonites, Moabites, Edomites and Philistines, the Phoenician cities of Tyre and Sidon, and Egypt.

Heaven extended down to and was coterminous with ( i. e. it touched ) the farthest edges of the earth ( e. g. Deuteronomy 4: 32 ); humans looking up from earth saw the floor of heaven, which was made of clear blue lapis-lazuli ( Exodus 24: 9-10 ), as was God's throne ( Ezekiel 1: 26 ).

Ezekiel says of him: " You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you ..." 38: 2

Ezekiel (;, Y ' ḥez ' qel, ), Arabic :< font size = 2 > حزقيال </ font > Hazqiyal, ' God will strengthen ' ( from, ḥazaq,, literally ' to fasten upon ,' figuratively ' strong ,' and, el,, literally ' God ', and so figuratively ' The Almighty ') is the central protagonist of the Book of Ezekiel in the Hebrew Bible.

The exile community in Babylon thus became the source of significant portions of the Hebrew Bible: Isaiah 40 – 55, Ezekiel, the final version of Jeremiah, the work of the Priestly source in the Pentateuch, and the final form of the history of Israel from Deuteronomy to 2 Kings Theologically, they were responsible for the doctrines of individual responsibility and universalism ( the concept that one god controls the entire world ), and for the increased emphasis on purity and holiness.

Yahweh commissions Ezekiel to be a prophet and a " watchman " in Israel: " Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites.

In Ezekiel 28: 12-19 the prophet Ezekiel ( the " son of man ") sets down God's word against the king of Tyre: the king was the " seal of perfection ", adorned with precious stones from the day of his creation, placed by God in the garden of Eden on the holy mountain as a guardian cherub.

The Book of Ezekiel is unique within the tradition of the Tanakh, in that as the story unfolds, the phrase son of man is used approximately 94 times by a divine being to refer to the author.

The son of man figure within the book of Daniel seems based on the Divine figure presented in the Merkabah of the book of Ezekiel.

( Ezekiel 1: 5 ) Each of them had four faces and four wings, with straight feet with a sole like the sole of a calf's foot, and " hands of a man " under their wings.

Three of the four faces are the same ; man, lion and eagle ; but where chapter one had the face of an ox, Ezekiel 10: 14 says " face of a cherub ".

Gabriel is interpreted by the Rabbis to be the " man in linen " in the Book of Daniel and the Book of Ezekiel.

Samuel L. Jackson's character in the 1994 movie Pulp Fiction recites a creed spuriously attributed to Ezekiel 25: 17, beginning, " The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men ," and ending, "... and you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Ezekiel describes the " living beings " as having the shape of a man, with four faces ( man, lion, bull and eagle ) and four wings ; " They glowed like burning coals, had calf's feet that sparkled like brass, and traveled like lightning.

It is most closely associated with the vision in Ezekiel chapter 1 of the four-wheeled vehicle driven by four hayyot (" living creatures "), each of which has four wings and the four faces of a man, lion, ox, and eagle.

The faces are that of a man, a lion, an ox ( later changed to a cherub in Ezekiel 10: 14 ) and an eagle.

This both reflects the medieval idea of the order of " nobility " of nature of the beasts ( man, lion, ox, eagle ) and the text of Ezekiel 1. 10.

However, the book of Job itself contains no indication of this, and to the prophet Ezekiel, Yahweh refers to Job as a righteous man of the same calibre as Noah and Daniel.

* Ezekiel " Father Zeke " Hardbottom: The holy man of the Nine is a fallen preacher who rode with the Nine to shoot sinners and fill his own collection plate.

Ezekiel insists that a man must " turn from his evil ways " if he wish to live.

They noted that the Hebrew letters of the word Breslov ( ברסלב ) can be rearranged to spell lev basar ( לב בשר — the " ס " and " ש " sounds are interchangeable ), " a heart of flesh "— echoing the prophecy in Ezekiel ( 36: 26 ): " I will take away your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

It was revealed that a variety of supernatural menaces that Spider-Man had faced were really after Ezekiel, and Ezekiel attempted to direct the consequences of gaining his powers onto Spider-Man himself, taking Spider-Man to the temple where he had been given his powers and drawing blood to attract a massive spider that would take the ' false ' totem warrior as a sacrifice.
