In the beginning of the film, Ling Ling Fat fails to apprehend a group of ugly swordsmen who are trespassing in the Forbidden City, but he does manage to acquire a kung fu manual, Flying Fairy, from one of the swordsmen.

On the verge of defeat, Ling Ling Fat is struck by a lightning bolt meant for Faceless which awakes his potential and enables him to use the Flying Fairy technique he learned from the manual he gained at the beginning of the film, thus destroying Faceless.

Albert Bond Lambert, the first person in the Saint Louis area to receive a pilot's license, and fellow members of the Aero Club leased the field in 1920 and renamed it the Lambert-St. Louis Flying Field in 1923.

The field was officially dedicated as Lambert-St. Louis Flying Field in honor of Albert Bond Lambert, an Olympic silver medalist golfer in the 1904 Summer Games, president of Lambert Pharmaceutical Corporation ( which made Listerine ), and the first person to receive a pilot's license in St. Louis.

Group Captain Wilfrid George Gerald Duncan Smith, DSO and Bar, DFC and 2 Bars ( 28 May 1914 – 11 December 1996 ) was a British Royal Air Force Second World War Flying ace.

The 1st American Volunteer Group ( AVG ) of the Chinese Air Force in 1941 – 1942, famously nicknamed the Flying Tigers, was composed of pilots from the United States Army ( USAAF ), Navy ( USN ), and Marine Corps ( USMC ), recruited under presidential authority and commanded by Claire Lee Chennault.

While a Marine Corps aviator he flew 120 combat missions, receiving numerous honors and medals including two Distinguished Flying Crosses, and has been honored in recent years, including being inducted into the USMC Sports Hall of Fame, for his call to duty.

The squadron nickname " Flying Nightmares " was coined by then Commanding Officer, LtCol James R. Anderson, USMC, in March 1951 because he thought it most appropriately described his outfit.
