In 2012 they broadcast Nicholas Wright's new play Travelling Light on 9 February, followed by The Comedy of Errors with Lenny Henry on 1 March and She Stoops to Conquer with Katherine Kelly, Steve Pemberton and Sophie Thompson on 29 March.

An interesting account of early settlement in the area is given in the letters of local resident Henry Nicholas Paint ( 1830-1921 ), Member of Parliament for Richmond county and merchant, whose father Nicholas secured valuable land grants and settled in a stone-built house at Belle Vue in 1817.

Wightwick was built by Theodore Mander, of the Mander family, who were successful 19th-century industrialists in the area, and his wife Flora, daughter of Henry Nicholas Paint, member of Parliament in Canada.

Rivers was born in 1864 at Constitution Hill, Chatham, Kent, son of Elizabeth Hunt ( 16 October 1834 – 13 November 1897 ) and Henry Frederick Rivers ( 7 January 1830 – 9 December 1911 ).

Around 1830 to 1832 Joseph Henry made a similar discovery, but did not publish his findings until later.

Henri of Artois, Count of Chambord ( Henri Charles Ferdinand Marie Dieudonné d ' Artois, duc de Bordeaux, comte de Chambord ; 29 September 1820 – 24 August 1883 ) was disputedly King of France from 2 to 9 August 1830 as Henry V, although he was never officially proclaimed as such.

Henry Jones, the village postmaster, was elected in October 1830 to the 11th Parliament of the Province.

Henry Edward Bird ( Portsea in Hampshire, 14 July 1830 – 11 April 1908 ) was an English chess player, and also an outstanding author and accountant.
