In the animated Disney film Hercules the background story of the Megara character also alludes to Alcestis.

On the way, they meet Megara —" Meg " for short — a sarcastic damsel who Hercules saves from the centaur Nessus.

Turning to the Fates for help, Hades learns that in eighteen years, a planetary alignment will allow Hades to locate and free the Titans to conquer Olympus, but only if Hercules does not interfere.

Hades sends his minions Pain and Panic to dispose of Hercules.

However, after Hercules, Phil, and Pegasus leave, Meg is revealed to be Hades ' minion, having sold her soul to him to save an unfaithful lover.

Hercules saves them, unaware that they are Pain and Panic in disguise, allowing Hades to summon the Hydra to fight Hercules.

Hades learns of this and makes a deal with Hercules, to give up his powers for twenty-four hours and Meg will be unharmed.

Hercules agrees, losing his strength, and is shocked when Hades reveals that Meg is working for him.

Hades unleashes the Titans who climb Olympus and capture the gods, whilst a Cyclops goes to Thebes to kill Hercules.

With Meg's soul now Hades ' property, Hercules breaks into the Underworld where he negotiates with Hades to free Meg from the Styx in exchange for his own life.

He is also well known for appearing several times in the comedy animated series Family Guy, as well as the voice of Hades in Disney's Hercules.

He garnered critical praise for his voice work as Hades in Disney's Hercules.

" He has been hired by Hades to kill Hercules, but must fight Sora as a prerequisite.

After the fight, Hades sends Cerberus to attack Cloud and Sora, who are then saved by Hercules.

A digital replica of Cloud also appears in Kingdom Hearts coded, once again in Olympus Coliseum, but helping data versions of Sora and Hercules to battle the data Hades.

Hercules found Hades and asked permission to bring Cerberus to the surface, which Hades agreed to if Hercules could overpower the beast without using weapons.

However, the series ignores a certain fact about the movie: In the film Hades believed that Hercules was dead throughout his first 18 years of his life, but in the series, the two of them have many interactions while Hercules is still in high school.

He is shown to have been a student of Philoctetes and takes his advice to let Hercules travel with him.

Zeus sends Hercules and his forgotten infant-hood friend Pegasus to find the satyr Philoctetes —" Phil " for short — who is known for training heroes.

Per Hyginus, the goddess Hera, upset with Philoctetes for helping Hercules, had sent the snake to punish him.

Rather Hercules features events which occur midway through the actual film, similar to The Lion King 1½ and Tarzan II ( sometimes called a " midquel "), during his years in training on the Isle of Idra under the tutelage of Philoctetes ( Phil ) the Satyr.

Hercules and Pegasus fly to Olympus where they free the gods and launch the Titans into space where they explode, though Meg dies before he returns to her.

No complete aircraft as in the previous war but 50, 800 radial aero-engines — Bristol Mercury, Hercules and Pegasus — with full sets of parts for a further 9, 500 of these engines ; propeller shafts for Rolls-Royce aero-engines ; 14, 356 gun-turrets for bombers including their Browning machine guns ; 74, 000 Bren guns — bombed-out that production had to be moved to a boot and shoe factory in Burton-on-Trent.

Hercules ' friends and allies are his main sidekick, Newton ; the helpful boy centaur who has a bothersome habit of repeating himself every time he speaks ; Helena, Hercules ' girlfriend ; Prince ( later King ) Dorian of Caledon ; Tewt, a small satyr who " speaks " only by playing his panpipes ; Timon, a young human from Caledon and Pegasus, Hercules ' winged steed.

In addition to the ring, later episodes added new equipment for Hercules and his friends to use: a " moon stone " beam in his belt ( and a matching belt that Newton frequently wore ) that could be used to summon him from Mount Olympus, an invulnerable sword and shield ( both with the same " H " symbol as his ring and belt ), and a set of pipes to summon Pegasus, his winged steed.

( Hercules was not paired with Pegasus in the original myths, but this concept of the two together was also included thirty years later in Disney's animated version of Hercules ).

Other objects on display include one of the Daimler-Benz DB 601 engines from the Messerschmitt Bf 110 flown to Scotland by Rudolf Hess, a Bristol Hercules engine, a Bristol Pegasus engine displayed alongside a Harrier jump jet, a Rolls-Royce Avon turbojet displayed next to a Lightning, a jeep, several Hispano-Suiza 20mm cannons, Martin-Baker ejection seats, air-to-air missiles including the AIM-7 Sparrow, and a reconstruction of a 1950s shop with displays of model kits manufactured by Airfix, Frog, Matchbox, Revell and others.

* Pegasus ( voiced by Frank Welker )-The winged horse formed from clouds by Zeus, he is the childhood pet and faithful companion of his owner Hercules with the brain of a bird.
