A section of I-78 at the airport was built as the Nassau Expressway, later Interstate 878 and now NY 878, though most of the westbound side was never built.

Pacific Beach is a neighborhood of San Diego, bounded by La Jolla to the north, Mission Beach and Mission Bay to the south, Interstate 5 to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west.

Some are designated as Interstate Highways ; although these routes do not connect to the contiguous United States, and are unsigned as such, they still receive funding in a similar fashion to the other Interstates on the U. S. mainland.

Interstate 97 begins at US 50 / US 301 / unsigned I-595 with a pair of collector distributor roadways feeding directly into I-97 at a directional-T interchange.

Because this roadway was formerly an unsigned Interstate designation, it was commonly thought to be the only segment of freeway in Hawaii to not have an Interstate designation.

I-555 will be the second Interstate with all three digits the same, and the first to be signed as an Interstate ( I-444 in Oklahoma is unsigned ).
