The band performed mostly covers of international hits, but Andersson soon started writing his own material, and gave the band the classic hits " No Response ", " Sunny Girl ", " Wedding ", " Consolation ", " It's Nice To Be Back " and " She Will Love You " amongst others.

A number of other films have been made on or about Shetland including A Crofter's Life in Shetland ( 1932 ) A Shetland Lyric ( 1934 ), Devil's Gate ( 2003 ) and It's Nice Up North ( 2006 ), a comedy documentary by Graham Fellows.

However, in 1940, a song he intended to record, " It's Really Nice to See you Mr Hess " ( after Hitler's deputy fled to Scotland ), was banned by the War Office.

Among his top ten R & B hits during this latter period included " Funky President ( People It's Bad )" and " Get Up Offa That Thing ", the latter song released in 1976 and aimed at musical rivals such as Barry White, The Ohio Players and K. C.

After " Get Up Offa That Thing ", thirteen of Brown's late 1970s recordings for Polydor, failed to reach the Top 10 of the R & B chart, with only " Body Heat " in 1976 and the disco-oriented " It's Too Funky in Here " in 1979 reaching the R & B Top 15 and the ballad " Kiss in ' 77 " reaching the Top 20.

The following year finally marked the release of Snow Patrol's second album ' When It's All Over We Still Have To Clear Up ', which, despite slightly disappointing initial sales, would eventually go gold in the wake of the band's later fame, along with their debut ' Songs For Polarbears '.

This was followed in 2006 by re-releases of ' Songs for Polarbears ' and ' When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up ', including as-before unseen bonus tracks.

As of early 2006, these six songs from the first Rutles CD ( which were not on the original LP release ) are credited solely to Neil Innes: " Baby Let Me Be ", " Between Us ", " Blue Suede Schubert ", " Get Up And Go ", " Goose Step Mama ", and " It's Looking Good ".

" Among the many standards introduced by Merman in Broadway musicals are " I Got Rhythm ", " Everything's Coming Up Roses ", " Some People ", " Rose's Turn ", " I Get a Kick Out of You ", " It's De-Lovely ", " Friendship ", " You're the Top ", " Anything Goes ", and " There's No Business Like Show Business ", which later became her theme song.

In July 2004, Van Halen released a new 2-CD compilation featuring three new songs with Hagar: " It's About Time ", " Up For Breakfast ", and " Learning to See ".

While Nelson preferred rockabilly and uptempo rock songs like " Believe What You Say " ( Hot 100 # 4 ), " I Got a Feeling " (# 10 ), " My Bucket's Got a Hole in It " (# 12 ), " Hello Mary Lou " (# 9 ), " It's Late " (# 9 ), " Stood Up " (# 2 ), " Waitin ' in School " (# 18 ), " Be-Bop Baby " (# 3 ), and " Just a Little Too Much " (# 9 ), his smooth, calm voice made him a natural to sing ballads.

He had major success with " Travelin ' Man " (# 1 ), " A Teenager's Romance " (# 2 ), " Poor Little Fool " (# 1 ), " Young World " (# 5 ), " Lonesome Town " (# 7 ), " Never Be Anyone Else But You " (# 6 ), " Sweeter Than You " (# 9 ), " It's Up to You " (# 6 ), and " Teenage Idol " (# 5 ), which clearly could have been about Nelson himself.

Due to this, the album became a million-seller and was the brothers ' first album to go platinum as did its 1974 follow-up, Live It Up, which included the hits " Midnight Sky ", the Todd Rundgren cover of " Hello It's Me " and the title track.

They released 4 more singles (" Don't Stop ", " Make A Move ", " Let's Talk About Love ", and " No Showbo ") but none was able to achieve the same success of " It's On You " or " Pump Up The Jam-Rap ".

The title track " Falling into You " and " River Deep, Mountain High " ( a Tina Turner cover ) made prominent use of percussion instruments ; " It's All Coming Back to Me Now " ( a remake of Jim Steinman's song ) and a remake of Eric Carmen's " All by Myself " kept their soft-rock atmosphere, but were combined with the classical sound of the piano ; and the number-one single " Because You Loved Me ", which was written by Diane Warren, was a ballad that served as the theme to the 1996 film Up Close & Personal.
