The David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union serves the social and recreational needs of the students.

The Jacket is the student newspaper serving the roughly three thousand students of Berkeley High School, California.

The staff of the Jacket includes more than one hundred student editors, reporters, photographers, and videographers as well as one faculty adviser.

Directed by Tony Taccone, Yellowjackets focused on many of the events depicted in School Colors, including conflict resulting after the Jacket failed to print two articles about Chicano-Latino student activities at the school.

On March 19, 2010 The paper received the Golden Crown Award for the Jacket Online from The Columbia Scholastic Press Association, " the highest award given to a student publication by the Association.

Some of the award-winning student films have themselves been nominated for Oscars in the short film categories, including Chicks in White Satin, The Janitor, Karl Hess: Toward Liberty, The Lunch Date, 9, Quiero ser ( I Want to Be ...), The Red Jacket, On the Line ( Auf der Strecke ), God of Love and The Confession.

BHSU is home to the student run radio station KBHU-FM, TV station KBHU-TV and student newspaper The Jacket Journal.

The Western Indian Confederacy achieved major victories over U. S. forces in 1790 and 1791 under the leadership of Blue Jacket of the Shawnees and Little Turtle of the Miamis.

Distinctive ornamentation of a design desired by the organization was authorized for wear on the Mess Jacket uniform by designated organizations ( staff corps, departments, corps of artillery, and infantry and cavalry regiments ) per General Order 132 dated December 31, 1902.

Also known as Red Jacket, the village includes the Calumet Downtown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places ( NRHP ).

It is bordered on the north by Calumet Township, on the south by the unincorporated town of New Town and Blue Jacket

The song was the most successful song on Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, peaking at # 2 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart, # 71 on the Billboard Hot 100, and # 14 on the UK Singles Chart.

The song was officially released on Monsters of Folk's 2009 self-titled album, on which Oberst teams up with Jim James ( of My Morning Jacket ), M. Ward ( of She & Him ), and Mike Mogis ( of Bright Eyes ).

The campus newspaper, The Yellow Jacket, is published and edited by students and can be picked up in major buildings across the campus.

In January 2007, a tribute album, entitled Endless Highway: The Music of The Band, was released which included contributions by My Morning Jacket, Death Cab for Cutie, Gomez, Guster, Bruce Hornsby, Jack Johnson and ALO, Lee Ann Womack, The Allman Brothers Band, Blues Traveler, Jakob Dylan, and Rosanne Cash, amongst others.

Little Turtle emerged as one of the leaders of this confederacy, which included the Shawnee under Blue Jacket and the Delaware under Buckongahelas.

Until 1895 Laurium was known as " Calumet " ( not to be confused with the present nearby town of Calumet, Michigan, which was known as " Red Jacket " until it adopted the name Calumet in 1929 ).

Other pop culture references to the term include the movie Full Metal Jacket, in which a recruit ( Leonard Lawrence aka " Private Gomer Pyle ") becomes noticeably unstable as a result of the abuse his drill sergeant and platoon-mates subject him to.
