The 2010 prize was awarded to Bierman Henket Architecten and Wessel de Jonge Architecten for the restoration of the Zonnestraal Sanatorium, an aftercare colony for tubercular patients near Hilversum, in the Netherlands, built in 1931.

De Jonge Akademie ( The Young Academy ) is a society of younger science researchers, founded in 2005 as part of the KNAW.

The Court used the doctrine first enunciated in Gitlow in other cases, such as De Jonge v. Oregon, 299 U. S. 353 ( 1937 ), Wolf v. Colorado, 338 U. S. 25 ( 1949 ), and Gideon v. Wainwright, 372 U. S. 335 ( 1963 ), to extend the reach of the Bill of Rights.

Even the critic G. R. Driver recognized that " the presence and popularity of the Daniel manuscripts at Qumran " conflicted " with the modern view which advocates the late dating of the composition of Daniel ".

Theodotion's translation is much closer to the Masoretic text and became so popular that it replaced the original Septuagint version of Daniel, in all but two manuscripts of the Septuagint itself.

Photius, writing in the 9th century, found various text appended to manuscripts of the seven canonical books, which lead Daniel Heinsius to suggest that the original eighth book is lost, and he identified the text purported to be from the eighth book as fragments of the Hypopotoses.

Scholars that continue to research the background of the Zohar include Yehudah Liebes ( who wrote his doctor's degree for Scholem on the subject of a Dictionary of the Vocabulary of the Zohar in 1976 ), and Daniel C. Matt, also a student of Scholem, who is currently reconstructing a critical edition of the Zohar based on original unpublished manuscripts.

The copious additions are in contrast to the style of the original ; none of these manuscripts bears the name of Servius, and the commentary is known traditionally as Servius auctus or Servius Danielis, from Pierre Daniel who first published it in 1600.

In Tiberian Masoretic codices, including the Aleppo Codex and the Leningrad Codex, and often in old Spanish manuscripts as well, the order is Chronicles, Psalms, Job, Proverbs, Ruth, Song of Solomon, Ecclesiastes, Lamentations of Jeremiah, Esther, Daniel, Ezra.

By the twelfth century depictions of a figure of God, essentially based on the Ancient of Days in the Book of Daniel had started to appear in French manuscripts and in stained glass church windows in England.

It was regarded as a part of the Daniel literature and was placed at the beginning of the Book of Daniel in manuscripts of the Old Testament.

The collection of stones, facsimiles, manuscripts, and molds taken from tombstones, which was acquired from Firkovich by the Imperial Library of St. Petersburg, on the recommendation of Professor Daniel Chwolson in 1859, was declared by some authorities to consist partly or wholly of forgeries committed for the purpose of glorifying the " Karaims " and of enhancing the value of Firkovich's discoveries.

In the Gospel of Mark, the phrase " spoken of by Daniel the prophet " is absent in earlier manuscripts including the Codex Sinaiticus.

Within the Byzantine text family, a clear genuine reading emerges throughout the New Testament by comparing different manuscripts.

The great majority of Biblical manuscripts support the Byzantine family, from which a single reading for the New Testament is established.

Alongside his industry in collecting and collating manuscripts, Tischendorf pursued a constant course of editorial labours, mainly on the New Testament, until he was broken down by overwork in 1873.

Winer's influence gave him the desire to use the oldest manuscripts in order to compile the text of the New Testament as close to the original as possible.

These were partly the result of the tireless travels he had begun in 1839 in search of unread manuscripts of the New Testament, " to clear up in this way ," he wrote, " the history of the sacred text, and to recover if possible the genuine apostolic text which is the foundation of our faith.

In particular, when scholars worked on biblical manuscripts, they began developing the principles of textual criticism and a view of the New Testament being the product of a particular historical period different from their own.

Not long after The New Yorker was founded in 1925, White would submit manuscripts to it.

The lack of any internal references to Ephesus in the early manuscripts led Marcion, a second-century heretical Gnostic who created the first New Testament canon, to believe that the letter was actually addressed to the church at Laodicea.

Most New Testament scholars believe Paul of Tarsus wrote this letter from Corinth, although information appended to this work in many early manuscripts ( e. g., Codices Alexandrinus, Mosquensis, and Angelicus ) state that Paul wrote it in Athens after Timothy had returned from Macedonia with news of the state of the church in Thessalonica (; ).

In the earliest surviving gospel collection, Papyrus 45 of the 3rd century, it is placed second in the order Matthew, John, Luke and Mark, an order which is also found in other very early New Testament manuscripts.

He was given duties in Rome, and he undertook a revision of the Latin Bible, to be based on the Greek manuscripts of the New Testament.

Like other literature from antiquity, the text of the New Testament was ( prior to the advent of the printing press ) preserved and transmitted in manuscripts.

For each subsequent century, more and more manuscripts survive that contain a portion or all of the books that were held to be part of the New Testament at that time ( for example, the New Testament of the 4th-century Codex Sinaiticus, once a complete Bible, contains the Epistle of Barnabas and the Shepherd of Hermas ), though occasionally these manuscripts contain other works as well ( e. g., Papyrus 72 and the Crosby-Schøyen Codex ).

The New Testament has been preserved in more than 5, 800 Greek manuscripts, 10, 000 Latin manuscripts and 9, 300 manuscripts in various other ancient languages including Syriac, Slavic, Ethiopic and Armenian.

There are far fewer witnesses to classical texts than to the Bible, and unlike the New Testament where the earliest witnesses are often within a couple decades of the original, the earliest existing manuscripts of most classical texts were written about a millennium after their composition.

According to Bart D. Ehrman, " These scribal additions are often found in late medieval manuscripts of the New Testament, but not in the manuscripts of the earlier centuries.

According to Norman Geisler and William Nix, " The New Testament, then, has not only survived in more manuscripts than any other book from antiquity, but it has survived in a purer form than any other great book — a form that is 99. 5 % pure "

By the 4th century, textual " families " or types of text become discernable among New Testament manuscripts.
