Thomas Garfield " Gar " Knutson, PC ( born May 4, 1956 ) is a lawyer and former member of the Parliament of Canada, as well as a former cabinet minister.

Knutson was the first woman elected to Congress from Minnesota, and is remembered today for the notorious " Coya, Come Home " letter supposedly written by her then-estranged husband, Andy, urging her to give up her seat and not seek reelection in 1958.

The Simmons Society was founded by Professor Roger M. Knutson of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, US to further studies of road fauna.
