MSO London is a truly global event, and the 2010 Pentamind World Champion Paco Garcia De La Banda hails from Spain, while the 2011 Pentamind World Champion Andres Kuusk is from Estonia.

Past members with successful careers as solo artists include Pedro Calvo, Angel Bonne, Changuito, José Luis " El Tosco " Cortés ( founder of the first timba band NG La Banda ), Cesar " Pupy " Pedroso and others.

Café Tacuba released five singles from the album -- " Maria ," " Rarotonga ", " Las Persianas ", " La Chica Banda " and " Las Batallas " -- with a music video filmed for each, with the exception of the latter.

The song " La Chica Banda " has a hip-hop beat under a stream of Mexico City slang originally written by Jaime López, " María " is a ' bolero ' ballad about a street prostitute, " El Fin de la Infancia " a brass-heavy ' banda ranchera ' sound that reflects the influence of ' banda sinaloense ', " Desperté " has a tango-driven melody while " El Borrego " mocks speed metal.

Many of the songs on this album, notably " La Chica Banda " and " Labios Jaguar " makes reference of Native Americans and mestizos in Mexico.

Morel Campos learned to play practically every brass instrument and eventually became one of the founders and directors of the " Ponce Firemen's Band " ( La Banda de Bomberos del Parque de Bombas de Ponce ).

La Bufadora is a marine geyser or blowhole located on the Punta Banda Peninsula in Baja California, Mexico.
