Unter den Linden, which sits at the heart of the historic section of Berlin, developed from a bridle path laid out by Elector John George of Brandenburg in the 16th century to reach his hunting grounds in the Tiergarten.

Mitte encompasses Berlin's historic core and includes some of the most important tourist sites of Berlin like Museum Island, Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden, Potsdamer Platz, the Reichstag and Berlin Hauptbahnhof, most of which were in former East Berlin.

According to his autobiography, he and Errol Flynn were firm friends and had decided to rent Rosalind Russell's house at 601 North Linden Drive as a bachelor pad.

In September, 1949, acting on orders from their superior, Edmond Romain, Linden Young and Roger Chartrand, members of the provincial police, broke up an orderly religious meeting conducted by Mr. Gotthold, a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses in Esymier Chaput's house.

Also included was the refurbishment and development of Beech House ( a former estate owner's home ) into housing, and Linden House ( a former farm house ) into apartment accommodation.

A young Linden began performing at a local coffee house, the Fiddler ’ s Green Coffee House, singing and strumming a guitar.

The building is currently being further redeveloped into a modern research library as a companion to the Haus Unter den Linden and will house the collection from 1946 onwards.

As the decent opera house Unter den Linden did not match with Emperor Wilhelm's attitudes, plans for a new luxuriant opera hall at the site of the Krolloper were developed and demolition had already started in 1914, when the outbreak of World War I halted the construction works.

They went to the other house Unter den Linden later.

In these last days, the building once again was the site of several performances of the Berlin State Opera, after the house Unter den Linden had been damaged by air raids.

He died at his house in Bayswater, Linden Grove, after a few years of declining health.

His wax figure appeared in the wax museum in Unter den Linden four days after his release.

The museum is located in the Zeughaus ( armoury ) on the avenue Unter den Linden as well as in the adjacent Exhibition Hall designed by I. M. Pei.

Since 1937, the numbering has started at the Schlossbrücke ( Palace Bridge ), connecting Unter den Linden with the Lustgarten and Museum Island.

The SIRTRR connected with the Pennsylvania Railroad in Linden, New Jersey, the Lehigh Valley Railroad at Staten Island Junction in Cranford, New Jersey and the Central Railroad of New Jersey at Cranford Junction, also in Cranford.

Prall's Island is an uninhabited island in the Arthur Kill between Staten Island, New York, and Linden, New Jersey, in the United States.

In addition to the primary settlement at Kingsville, the municipality also includes the smaller communities of Cedar Beach, Cedar Island, Cedarhurst Park, Cottam, Klondyke, Linden Beach, North Ridge, Olinda, Ruthven and Union.

The river's mouth is at Arthur Kill between Carteret ( on the south ) and Linden ( on the north ) and opposite Port Mobil on Staten Island.

It is 12 miles from Lake Linden on Copper Island at the western end of the Upper Peninsula.

On the west side of Swaffham Market Place are several old buildings which for many years housed the historic Hamond's Grammar School, as a plaque on the wall of the main building explains.

In 1979, the site, formerly known as “ Fred ’ s Place ” and “ Schaupp ’ s ,” was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and has won two historic preservation grants.

Mystic has three historic districts: the Mystic Bridge Historic District ( around U. S. Route 1 and Route 27 ), Rossie Velvet Mill Historic District ( between Pleasant Street and Bruggerman Place ) and the Mystic River Historic District ( around U. S. Route 1 and Route 215 ).

The city also features a historic downtown area, boardwalk, marina, museum, lighthouse, and the McMorran Place arena and entertainment complex.

" The township is home to the majority of affluent neighborhoods in the Princetons, such as the Western Section and Princeton Ridge, though the borough does play host to streets with historic mansions, such as Library Place and Hodge Road.

During the early historic period, the area was occupied by the Seneca tribe, and was referred to by them as O-so-on-to-geh, Place where turkeys are found.

A number of historic building were included in the Miller Place Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The historic Black Boys Inn in the Market Place is one of Aylsham's oldest surviving buildings, and has been on the site since the 1650s, although the present frontage dates to between 1710 and 1720.

The party retained the historic Sinn Féin headquarters of Gardiner Street, thus giving legitimacy to it, in the eyes of some, to be the legitimate successor of that party and briefly known popularly as Sinn Féin Gardiner Place.

The middle campus is also home to the historic Newcomb College Campus, which sits between Newcomb Place and Broadway.

Other places of interest are the 13th-century Scheldt bridge ( Pont-des-Trous ) and the main square ( Grand ' Place ), as well as several old city gates, historic warehouses, and a variety of museums.

The historic Fulford Place house museum is located in the east end of Brockville at 287 King St. E. This was the palatial home of Senator George Taylor Fulford, whose success in marketing " Dr. Williams ' Pink Pills for Pale People " around the world made him one of the area's richest industrialists before his death in 1905.

The Riverhead Centre development caused some controversy at the time as it followed the 1960s trend of replacing old architecture with new ; in this case it involved the wholesale demolition of much of the old town centre including the historic Bull Ring ( which is now where Wilkinson's, the Halifax Bank and the St James Hotel are based ) and streets going back many centuries including Flottergate ( located at the present day entrance to Freshney Place between British Home Stores and the market ), Brewery Street ( located at the present day entrance to Freshney Place between the branch of Barclays Bank and the offices of the Cheltenham and Gloucester ) and East St Mary's Gate ( no trace remains ).

The centre of Cockermouth retains much of its historic character and the renovation of Market Place has been completed, now with an artistic and community focus.

The A509 road runs into the wide High Street bordered by historic town houses and the Market Place is home to a general market on Thursdays and a farmers ' market on the first Sunday each month.

In February 2007, the Geographical Names Board of New South Wales renamed a portion of Argyle Street in The Rocks " Jack Mundey Place " in recognition of his leadership ' in the fight to preserve such significant sites in the historic Rocks area '.

It is the home of Chicago's famous Water Tower landmark, Water Tower Park with its historic clock, as well as the eight-level Water Tower Place shopping center which grew up next door to, and overshadowed, the comparatively diminutive landmark.
