An extension of Line M2 of the Bucharest Metro to Aurel Vlaicu International, which will link it to the Main Train Station and the larger Henri Coandă International Airport, was approved in June 2006 and is currently in its planning stage.

M2, M4, M6 and M8 EMUs which operate on the New Haven Line of Metro-North Railroad, are “ multi-system ” meaning they can draw power from either the third rail or from overhead lines.

Opened in October 1987, it is the northern terminus of Line M2.

Although it was a practical reason, as the stations of the Kakhovskaya Line connect three major transport arteries, the Kashira Highway which continues on to become the M4 ( E111 ) motorway going southwards to the Caucasus ; the Varshava highway, although named after Warsaw, its direction is actually southwards as the M2 ( E105 ) towards Ukraine and Crimea.

As of 2010, the entire network runs underground, except for a short stretch between Dimitrie Leonida and Berceni stations on the southern end of M2 line.

The last trains on M1, M2 and M3 wait for the transfer of the passengers between lines to complete, before leaving Piata Unirii station.

Hartlip is situated between the M2 motorway ( Strood to Canterbury ) and the A2 main road from London to Canterbury.

The A26 between M22 Junction 1 and Junction 10 of the M2 was progressively upgraded to a dual carriageway and so it is now unlikely that the M2 will ever be completed.

The Westlink M7 motorway was completed in December 2005, and now connects the M5 from the south-west, the M4, and the M2 to the north-west.

The design of the R-36 M2 Voivode was completed in June 1982.

It was initially deployed in 1988 for the first version ( S1 ) and 1997 for the second version ( M2 ).
