Isaiah 8: 1-15 continues the previous chapter: the prophet tells of the birth of another child, his own son named Maher-shalal-hash-baz ( yet another symbolic name ), then predicts that after Ephraim and Syria are destroyed the Assyrians will come like a river in flood to " cover the breadth of your land, Immanuel " ( Isaiah 8: 8 ).

The child Maher-shalal-hash-baz is the second prophetic-name child after the birth of Immanuel-traditionally understood as the son of Abi the bride of king Ahaz, i. e. the future king Hezekiah, by many Jewish commentators, or of another woman.

Isaiah 7-8 mentions three children with symbolic names: Shear-jashub, meaning " a remnant shall return "; Immanuel, " God is with us "; and Maher-shalal-hash-baz, " the spoil speeds, the prey hastens ".

The name is taken from Maher-shalal-hash-baz in the Book of Isaiah verses 8: 1 and 8: 3, and translates roughly as " Hurrying to the spoil, he has made haste to the plunder.

In the Biblical account, unlike Rachel's first son, Joseph, Benjamin was born in Canaan.

Yet for " son of Man ( Ben-Adam ), one is also wise to note that HaShem, throughout the Book of " Ezekial ," refers to the prophet himself only by the title " ben-Adam.

According to the Book of Mormon, Moroni was the son of Mormon, the prophet for whom the Book of Mormon is ostensibly named.

As in Jewish tradition, he was the youngest son of King David ( Dawud ), who is also considered a prophet by Islam.

The Qur ' an refers to Sulayman as the son of David ( Arabic: Dawud, Dawood, or Dawoud ), a prophet and a great ruler with tremendous wisdom, favor, and special powers ( like his father ).

Thus, Unitarians contend that main-line Christianity does not adhere to strict monotheism but that they do, maintaining that Jesus was a prophet, and in some sense the " son " of God, but not God himself.

Although there is an indication in Targum Lamentations that " Zechariah son of Iddo " was killed in the Temple ,< ref > Targum on Lam 2: 20: " Is it right to kill priest and prophet in the Temple of the Lord, as when you killed Zechariah son of Iddo, the High Priest and faithful prophet in the Temple of the Lord on the Day of Atonement because he told you not to do evil before the Lord?
