Since the early 1980s, Japan has produced a significant output of characteristically harsh bands, sometimes referred to under the portmanteau Japanoise, with perhaps the most well known being Merzbow ( pseudonym for the Japanese noise artist Masami Akita who himself was inspired by the Dada artist Kurt Schwitters's Merz art project of psychological collage ).

Its most prominent representative is Masami Akita with his project Merzbow.

* Masami Akita ( 秋田昌美 AKITA Masami ), while known primarily as a musician, has produced an extensive number of scholarly writings on the history and practice of Japanese bondage.

He was a member of the noise group Flying Testicle with Merzbow, as well as the Japanoise supergroup Bustmonster which included Akita Masami from Merzbow on drums.

He used an all-star lineup in his first live " Alec Empire " show at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan: Charlie Clouser ( ex-Nine Inch Nails ) played synths, Masami " Merzbow " Akita and Gabe Serbian ( The Locust ) both played drums, and Endo played synths and keyboards.

" Glay Expo 2001-Global Communication " was divided into four performances: two in Tokyo, one in Ishikari, and an all-night long performance in Fukuoka, which featured artists ; Dome from Thailand, Nicholas Tse from Hong Kong, Mayday from Taiwan, Jaurim from South Korea, and The D. e. p., a group formed by Glay's producer Masahide Sakuma, Taiwanese singer Vivian Hsu, Gota Yashiki, Masami Tsuchiya and Mick Karn.

The opening theme is " Feeling Heart " by Masami Nakatsukasa ; the first ending theme is " Yell " by Ayako Kawasumi, and the second ending theme is " Access " by Spy.

Directed by Masami Shimoda, the episodes debuted in Japan on April 1, 2003 on TV Tokyo ; the final episode aired on September 23, 2003.

On September 20, 1997 in Japan, Devil Masami won the vacated title ; however, it was abandoned shortly thereafter.

Okazaki and Mai visit a mental hospital to see Masami Kurahashi ( Hitomi Sato ), a friend of Tomoko Oishi's who saw her killed.

While there, they meet a university classmate of Takayama's, Dr. Kawajiri ( Fumiyo Kohinato ), who is a prominent paranormal researcher and recognises that Sadako Yamamura's lingering hatred resides within the tape and can be transferred to people such as Masami.

* Jinpei ( voiced by Masami Kikuchi and Frank Frankson )-a young shinobi who looks up to Sakon and supports Sakon's claims that Koga betrayed Iga ( not believed by Momochi ), but refuses to abandon his people and leave with Sakon.

In Masami Kurumada's Saint Seiya comic book, which is inspired by Greek myths, the character Perseus Algol is one of the warriors known as the Saints of Athena, and he wears an armor known as the Perseus Cloth, which represents the mythological figure and also his constellation.

Patlabor ( a portmanteau of " patrol " and " labor ") also known as, is an anime and manga franchise created by Headgear, a group consisting of director Mamoru Oshii, writer Kazunori Itō, mecha designer Yutaka Izubuchi, character designer Akemi Takada, and manga artist Masami Yūki.

Shinwakai, whose name is also Masami Kurumada, and the kanji in his clothes read Shinwakai, as a reference to it.

Masami Kurumada also appeared in the Super Famicom video game Ring ni Kakero ( video game ) | Ring ni Kakero as a hidden character.

Grouillard entered the FIA GT Championship in 1997 in a Dave Price Racing Panoz GTP Ford, teamed up with David Brabham and Perry McCarthy and also competed in Japanese GT finishing 2nd at Suzuka in a Toyota Supra with Masami Kageyma.

It was created and directed by Masami Ōbari, who was also responsible for the design of the characters.

Klein Sandman makes an appearance in Juusou Kikou Dancouga Nova, which is also directed by Masami Obari.

The five members have also worked on individual projects and collaborated with many other famous artists, both Japanese and foreign, including Maki Fujii ( Soft Ballet ), Issay ( Der Zibet ), Kiyoshi ( Media Youth, Spread Beaver ), Masami Tsuchiya ( Ippu-do ), Raymond Watts ( PIG ), Sascha Konietzko ( KMFDM ), Clan of Xymox, Robin Guthrie ( Cocteau Twins ) and Kelli Ali ( Sneaker Pimps ).

He is also influenced by post-punk / first wave goth acts such as The Sisters of Mercy, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Clan of Xymox, and Der Zibet and Masami Tsuchiya.

Someday's Dreamers was also adapted into an anime series that was produced by J. C. Staff under the direction of Masami Shimoda.
