The ACT Chief Minister ( currently Katy Gallagher, Australian Labor Party ) is elected by members of the ACT Assembly.

Julia Gillard is the current Prime Minister, leader of the Australian Labor Party, and the first female Prime Minister of Australia.

Askin, along with his Minister for Local Government, Pat Morton, oversaw the rapid escalation of building development in inner-city Sydney and the central business district, which followed in the wake of his controversial 1967 abolition of Sydney City Council and a redistribution of municipal electoral boundaries that was aimed at reducing the power of the rival Australian Labor Party.

On 7 May, the Nationalist opposition ( hitherto led by John Latham ), the six Labor dissidents ( who had formed the All for Australia League ), and former Prime Minister Billy Hughes ' Australian Party ( a group of former Nationalists who had been expelled for crossing the floor and bringing down Stanley Bruce's Nationalist government in 1929 ), merged to form the UAP.

With the Labor Party split between Scullin's supporters and Langites, and with a very popular leader ( Lyons had a genial manner and the common touch ), the UAP won the subsequent parliamentary elections in December 1931 in a massive landslide which saw the two wings of the Labor Party cut down to 18 seats between them, and Lyons became Prime Minister in January 1932.

In 1993, she was moved to the Department of Employment, and she was promoted to Minister of State the following year.

The Minister for Employment and Social Security, Fátima Báñez, said in June 19, 2012, that labor reform promoted by the Government has allowed reached in a short time, 32, 500 contracts for entrepreneurs, of which over 50 % has gone to young people.

He became Minister of Social Affairs and Employment, Minister for Suriname and Netherlands Antilles Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister from September 11, 1981 until May 29, 1982 in the Cabinet Van Agt II.

Leaders of the Forces Nouvelles ( former rebels ) asserted that Gbagbo was not the Head of State and could not make such a request and also asserted that the demand was a part of a plan to commit genocide on ethnicities from the north of the country, as stated by Gbagbo's Minister of Youth and Employment.

On 26 March 2004, following the decision of the Speaker of the Parliament, Marek Borowski, to found a new dissenting party, the Social Democracy of Poland, Leszek Miller decided to resign from the position of Prime Minister on 2 May 2004, a day after Poland ’ s accession to the EU.
