English Romantic poet John Keats termed this escape from logic " Negative Capability ".

" Ode to a Nightingale " is a personal poem that describes Keats's journey into the state of Negative Capability.

I had not a dispute but a disquisition with Dilke, upon various subjects ; several things dove-tailed in my mind, and at once it struck me what quality went to form a Man of Achievement, especially in Literature, and which Shakespeare possessed so enormously-I mean Negative Capability, that is, when a man is capable of being in uncertainties, mysteries, doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reason-Coleridge, for instance, would let go by a fine isolated verisimilitude caught from the Penetralium of mystery, from being incapable of remaining content with half-knowledge.

This concept of Negative Capability is precisely a rejection of set philosophies and preconceived systems of nature.

The Detroit area was home to Crucifucks, Degenerates, The Meatmen, The Necros, Negative Approach, Spite and Violent Apathy.

Many Boston bands such as SS Decontrol, Gang Green, DYS, and The F. U. 's, as well as Midwestern hardcore bands Necros, Negative Approach and The Meatmen moved in a slower, heavier hard rock direction.

The most recent addition to the label is Negative Approach: The 200th release is titled " friends of No One " ( a lost six-song recording from 1984 that was discovered in 2009 in a basement in Detroit ).

Early musical influences included Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Negative Approach, Cro-Mags and Agnostic Front.

Inspired, he put out records by the Necros, The Fix, the Meatmen, and Negative Approach.

Negative Approach is an American hardcore punk band, formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1981.

Like most hardcore bands, Negative Approach was little known in its day outside of its hometown.

Negative Approach initially broke up in 1984 with singer John Brannon moving onto Laughing Hyenas, and later Easy Action, but the band has reformed as of 2006 and continues to tour sporadically.

Negative Approach was formed in August 1981 in Detroit, Michigan by John Brannon and Pete Zelewski, supposedly after seeing a Black Flag / Necros show.

The first proper Negative Approach studio release came in 1982 with their self-titled 7 ” EP, also on Touch & Go.
