Other classic recordings by Fischer include Bach keyboard concertos, miscellaneous solo Bach works, such as the Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, various concertos and sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven, Schubert's " Wanderer " Fantasie and Impromptus, and Brahms ' Second Concerto, conducted by Wilhelm Furtwängler.

Other works he played in harmonica arrangements were by Bartók, Beethoven ( Minuet in G ), Debussy, Falla, Gershwin ( Rhapsody in Blue ), Mozart ( slow movement from the Oboe Quartet, K. 470 ), Poulenc, Ravel ( Boléro ), Stravinsky and Walton.

In Los Angeles, he began to concentrate more on the standard works of the Germanic repertoire that would later bring him greatest acclaim, particularly the works of Beethoven, Brahms and Mahler, though he gave the Los Angeles premieres of some of fellow Los Angeles resident Arnold Schoenberg's works with the Philharmonic.

These range as widely as his concert repertoire, from Bach to the premieres he conducted, and including all the Beethoven symphonies.

He moved to Amsterdam in 1791 where he played flute in two orchestras and was soloist in Mozart and Beethoven piano concertos, giving them their Dutch premieres.
