The Society's Patron is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

As of 1989, the organisation acknowledges a Patron-the Head of the Commonwealth ; Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II-and a Vice Patron, the head of state or of the government of the branch holding the upcoming conference.

The Patron of the BDA is Her Majesty the Queen ( since 1983 ) and the BDA Honorary President is the GMB Union National President Mary Turner MBE.

Shortly thereafter, in the cathedral of Lviv, on April 1, 1656, Jan Kazimierz, the King of Poland, solemnly pronounced his vow to consecrate the country to the protection of the Mother of God and proclaimed Her the Patron and Queen of the lands in his kingdom.
