Profiat Duran published an influential grammar in 1403.

Profiat Duran's anti-Christian polemic Kelimmat ha-Goyim ‎ (“ Shame of the Gentiles ”, 1397 ) makes it evident that Duran gave no credence to Yehiel of Paris ' theory of two Jesuses.

Profiat Duran ( fl. 1380-1420 ) had extensive knowledge of Latin Christian texts, and devoted a chapter of his Disgrace of the Gentiles ( Klimat ha-goyim ) to criticism of Jerome's Latin Vulgate.

Rhodes and Warren Cuccurullo wrote and produced three tracks for the Blondie reunion album in 1996 ; the tracks were not used, but one song called " Pop Trash Movie " was later recorded by Duran Duran for the 2000 album Pop Trash.

He also appeared in Sheena Easton's " Days Like This " music video as her love interest and Duran Duran's " My Own Way " music video as a dancer.

WVOA-FM / Syracuse, NY teased a 2009 change to a country music format by playing Duran Duran's " Hungry Like the Wolf " on a loop ( a reference to the new format's branding and call sign as " The Wolf ," WOLF-FM ).

Gil Scott-Heron, a jazz poet / musician who wrote and released such seminal songs as " The Revolution Will Not Be Televised ", " H2OGate Blues Part 2: We Beg Your Pardon America ," and " Johannesberg ," has been cited as an influence on many rappers.

As Hesmondhalgh and Melville wrote, " Tricky showed his debt to hip-hop aesthetics by reconstructualizing samples and slices of both the most respected black music ( Public Enemy ) and the tackiest pop ( quoting David Cassidy ’ s “ How Can I Be Sure ?”).

In the rest of 2007, They Might Be Giants wrote a commissioned piece for Brooklyn-based robotic music outfit League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots and performed for three dates at the event, and covered the Pixies " Havalina " for American Laundromat Records Dig For Fire-a tribute to PIXIES compilation.

The Decemberists ' frontman Colin Meloy wrote a memoir centered around the album " Let it Be " for the 331 / 3 imprint in the early 2000s.

He wrote the screenplays for most of the 37 feature films he directed, many of which are today considered classics: The Maltese Falcon ( 1941 ), The Treasure of the Sierra Madre ( 1948 ), Key Largo ( 1948 ), The Asphalt Jungle ( 1950 ), The African Queen ( 1951 ), Moulin Rouge ( 1952 ), The Misfits ( 1961 ), and The Man Who Would Be King ( 1975 ).
