The group's success continued with their second Top Ten single and third Top 40 single, " Quicksand ", which was another composition with Holland-Dozier-Holland and reached number eight pop in the late fall of 1963.

The third and final album by this line-up, Shake Me Up ( 1991 ) was released on Morgan Creek as was the soundtrack of the 1992 film White Sands, which contained one song by Little Feat called Quicksand and Lies but this label folded soon afterwards and Little Feat were moving from one label to another until the establishment of Hot Tomato Records in 2002.

The first work consisted of the construction of a vast concrete-raft to serve as the buildings foundation, after the foundations had been dug by hand, 70, 000 cubic yards of concrete were laid, the site of the Victoria Tower was found to be of Quicksand, necessitating the use of piles.

The late 80s and early 90s saw the formation and rise to prominence of several bands associated with earlier acts that not only included the examples of Fugazi and Shellac, but also Girls Against Boys ( originally a side-project of Brendan Canty and Eli Janney, which would later incorporate members of Soulside ), The Jesus Lizard ( formed by ex-members of Scratch Acid ), Quicksand ( fronted by former Youth of Today and Gorilla Biscuits member Walter Schreifels ), Rollins Band ( led by former Black Flag singer Henry Rollins ), Tar ( which raised from the ashes of a hardcore outfit named Blatant Dissent ), and Slint ( containing members of Squirrel Bait ).

His review of Larsen's Quicksand gave closer attention to the review of the novel given by Du Bois than it did to the novel itself, saying that Larsen " no doubt pleases Dr. Du Bois for she stays in her own sphere and writes about the sort of people one can invite to one's home without losing one's social prestige.

John Porcelly went on to tour and record with Hare Krishna hardcore band Shelter ( featuring Ray Cappo of Youth Of Today, as well as a revolving line-up of more and less well-known hardcore musicians, including Tom Capone of Bold and Quicksand, and Vic DiCara of Beyond, Inside Out, and 108 ).

Walter went on to form the post-hardcore band Quicksand.

In John Franck's review of Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence for Allmusic, he stated: " Featuring extraordinary ambidextrous drummer Sammy Siegler ( of Gorilla Biscuits / CIV fame ), Glassjaw has paired up with producer / entrepreneur Ross Robinson ( a key catalyst in the reinvention of the aggro rock sound ) to take you on a pummeling ride that would make Bad Brains and Quicksand proud.

In February 2009, Deftones announced that they would perform as scheduled at the Bamboozle Left music festival in April, with their friend Sergio Vega ( formerly of Quicksand ) filling in for Cheng on stage.

Her other credits include 1992 thriller Quicksand: No Escape with Donald Sutherland and Tim Matheson, The Water Engine opposite William H. Macy, and supporting roles on The Heart of Justice ( 1992 ), Hackers ( 1995 ), Harrison: Cry of the City ( 1996 ) and The Underworld ( 1997 ).

While on Superia's ship, Anaconda caused quite a ruckus with the villainess Quicksand.

Manic Compression reached No. 135 on the Billboard 200 Chart and No. 9 on the Heatseakers Chart and garnered Quicksand an invitation to the first Vans Warped Tour.

Quicksand then returned to the studio to continue working on the new album ; despite the recent successful tour and a more collaborative effort in the writing process, resurfaced tensions would eventually split up the band indefinitely in late 1999 and doom the material to remain officially unreleased.

On 10 June 2012, Quicksand was the unannounced " special guest " on the fourth night of the Revelation Records 25th Anniversary Shows at The Glass House in Pomona, California.

Quicksand has since performed at Bowery Ballroom in New York City on 24 August, the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY on 25 August, and the FYF Fest in Los Angeles, California on 1 September.
