Raimi's use of the Introvision process was a tribute to the stop-motion animation work of Ray Harryhausen.

FXRH ( Special Effects by Ray Harryhausen ) ( 1971 – 1976 ) was a specialized zine co-created by future Hollywood FX artist Ernest D. Farino.

Bradbury often attended meetings with his friend Ray Harryhausen ; the two Rays had been introduced to each other by Ackerman.

O ' Brien's protege ( and successor ), Ray Harryhausen, worked alongside O ' Brien on this film, and by some accounts Harryhausen did the majority of the animation.

In June 2010 it was announced that the Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation had agreed to deposit the animator's complete collection of some 20, 000 pieces with the National Media Museum.
