A second Mid-Levels escalator set is planned in Sai Ying Pun.

Three new stops ( Sai Ying Pun, University, and Kennedy Town ) will be created.

The four wans are Sai Wan (" West Ring " in Chinese, present-day Sai Wan, including Kennedy Town, Shek Tong Tsui, and Sai Ying Pun ), Sheung Wan (" Upper Ring " in Chinese, present-day Sheung Wan ), Choong Wan or Chung Wan (" Central Ring " in Chinese, present-day Central ) and Ha Wan (" Lower Ring " in Chinese, present-day Wan Chai ).

It is mainly divided into East Mid-levels above Admiralty, Central Mid-levels above Central and Sheung Wan, and West Mid-levels above Sai Ying Pun.

As Tseung Kwan O is not considered a formal entity in the census, the above population figure takes into account residents of the following breakdown figures in Sai Kung District which comprise Tseung Kwan O New Town: Hang Hau, Sheung Tak, Tsui Lam, Hong King, Po Lam, Yan Ying, Wan Hang, King Lam, Hau Tak, Fu Yu, Tung Ming, On Hong, and Kwon Ming.

Sai Ying Pun is a proposed station on the Hong Kong MTR Island Line serving the neighbourhood of Sai Ying Pun in northwestern Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong.

Under the latest proposal as of June 2005, Sai Ying Pun will serve as a station on the proposed extension of the Island line known as West Island Line, as opposed to a transfer station to another line serving the Southern District with the same name as in previous plans.

The MTR Corporation let out a tender for the construction of the Sai Ying Pun and University Stations and 2. 2 km of tunnel.

The above scheme has interchanges at Sai Ying Pun, Wong Chuk Hang, Admiralty and probably Wan Chai.

The track system runs east from Sai Wan Ho to the west of the northern part of Hong Kong Island linking Shau Kei Wan and Kennedy Town.
