Stone Temple Pilots ( often abbreviated to STP ) is an American rock band from San Diego, California that consists of Scott Weiland ( lead vocals ), brothers Robert DeLeo ( bass guitar, vocals ) and Dean DeLeo ( guitar ), and Eric Kretz ( drums, percussion ).

In a February 5, 1971 feature on Glass Harp in Cleveland's The Plain Dealer, the paper's rock music critic Jane Scott cited unnamed " record people " who told a story of Hendrix saying ( in 1970 ) " That guy ( Phil Keaggy ) is the upcoming guitar player in the Midwest ".

Among the musicians on these early recordings are Peter Gordon on saxophone, Scott Johnson on guitar, Ken Deifik on harmonica, and Joe Kos on drums.

Brothers Ron ( guitar ) and Scott Asheton ( drums ) and their friend Dave Alexander ( bass guitar ) rounded out the rest of the band, with Osterberg taking vocal duties.

Pop and the Ashetons first reunited that year, appearing on four songs on the Skull Ring album with Pop on vocals, Scott Asheton on drums, and Ron Asheton on both guitar and bass.

Both Scott Ian and Charlie Benante, who played guitar in addition to drums, felt they needed tighter control on the songwriting.

The group's solid early line-up consisted of Tripp on bass and vocals, Scott on lead guitar, Civitarese on drums and vocals and Paul Russo on second guitar and vocals as well as drums and bass during live shows when the band switched instruments for certain songs.

), it also featured Johnny Scott ( Van Morrison ) on guitar, and James Lascelles ( Frank Zappa ) on hammond, mini-moog, piano, hammered dulcimer and percussion.

They included a childhood friend, Zoro on drums ( formerly of Bobby Brown's band ), Adam Widoff ( guitar ), Lebron Scott ( bass guitar, recruited out of Curtis Mayfield's band after seeing them perform in a NYC club ), Kenneth Crouch ( keyboards ) and Karl Denson on saxophone.

They have played the song live several times, including an acoustic version with Scott Gorham on guitar.

The opening night cast included Roslyn Roseman as Usherette / Magenta, Needa Greene as Janet Weiss, Robert Reynolds as Brad Majors, Richard Gee as the Narrator, Buddy King as Riff-Raff, Paula Desmond as Columbia, Bob Dulaney as Rocky Horror, and Emil Borelli as Eddie / Dr. Everett Scott, with back-up vocals by Vikki D ' Orazi, William J. Tacke and Kelly St. John.

" With Smalley and later singers Scott Reynolds and Chad Price, All released eight albums between 1988 and 1995, with Aukerman contributing occasional songwriting and backing vocals.

Both albums were produced by Joe Wissert and a single, from The Need of Love called " I Think About Lovin ' You ", with Sherry Scott on lead vocals, provided EWF with their first Top 40 R & B hit.

He decided to take on the role of lead vocals himself in the absence of Lynott, and persuaded Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton to return to the fold.

Lead singer Martin Sorrondeguy appears in Queercore: A Punk-u-mentary by Scott Treleaven and addresses the issue implicit in these song titles.

Lead vocals on the album were shared between Scott and Dave, however live they all took their turns.

The original version of TetraVex ( for the Windows Entertainment Pack 3 ) was written ( and named ) by Scott Ferguson who was also the Development Lead and an architect of the first version of Visual Basic.

The second album, written and produced with Scott and Theo in the band, sold slightly less than Lead Us To Reason but was received very warmly by critics in contrast to the mixed reviews of its predecessor.

Lead singer Jerome Anthony " Little Anthony " Gourdine was noted for his high-pitched falsetto voice, influenced by Jimmy Scott.
