Sefer and haYashar
The Sefer haYashar ( first edition 1552 ) is a Hebrew midrash also known as the Toledot Adam and Dibre ha-Yamim be -' Aruk.
The Hebrew title may be translated Sefer haYashar " Book of the Upright Man ," but it is known in English translation mostly as The Book of Jasher following English tradition.

Among the various pseudepigraphic texts called " Book of Jasher " the 16th Century Hebrew Sefer haYashar ( midrash ) (( first edition 1552, later popular among early Mormons ) mentions the magicians.
These stories later reappear in other sources including the 16th century Sefer haYashar, which adds that Nimrod had a son named Mardon who was even more wicked.
This is reiterated in as well as later histories such as Josephus ' Jewish Antiquities i. vi. 2, which placed them explicitly in Egypt and the Sefer haYashar 10 which describes them living by the Nile.
It is sometimes called Pseudo-Jasher to distinguish it from the Sefer haYashar ( midrash ) ( Naples, 1552 ) which incorporates genuine Jewish legend.
