The controversial tiered concrete New Court ( often dubbed " the Typewriter ") was designed in the Modernist style by Sir Denys Lasdun in 1966-70, and was described as " superb " in Lasdun's obituary in the Guardian.

Carre's Grammar School was established in 1604 by Robert Carre of Aswarby ( later Sir Robert Carr of Old Sleaford ) who went on to found Carre's Hospital in 1636 ( Sleaford Hospital survives as a charitable trust, owning and operating the almshouses at the junction of Carre Street and Eastgate immediately to the south of St. Denys Church and a later set of almshouses in Northgate ).

In less than a year he was compelled to seek relaxation ; and ‘ going to Switzerland he there met and married Helen, third daughter of Sir George William Denys, Bart.

Thomas Tollemache ( Talmash or Tolmach ) ( c. 1651 – 1694 ) was an English soldier ; the second son of Sir Lionel Tollemache of Helmingham, Suffolk and his wife, Elizabeth, 2nd Countess of Dysart.

Later, with the help of King Arthur, Lancelot defeats Claudas and recovers his father's kingdom, though he again decides to remain at Camelot with his cousins Sir Bors and Sir Lionel and his illegitimate half-brother Ector de Maris.

In 1939 Holt's mentor Robert Menzies became Prime Minister after the sudden death of the incumbent Joseph Lyons and the short-term caretaker ministry of Sir Earle Page.

* When Joseph Lyons, prime minister and leader of the United Australia Party ( UAP ), died suddenly in April 1939, the governor-general, Lord Gowrie, called on Sir Earle Page to become caretaker prime minister.
