Leszek Miller started his political career as an activist of the Socialist Youth Union, where he held the position of Chairman of the Plant Board, soon becoming a member of the Town Committee.

Mao soon set up his own branch in Changsha, also establishing a branch of the Socialist Youth Corps.

Programme Youth )-it was an organisation for smart high school students and university students to enter and learn about friendship, useful skills and of the socialist politics of the Burma Socialist Programme Party.

In 1920, Liu and Ren Bishi joined a Socialist Youth Corp ; and in the next year, Liu was recruited to study at the Comintern's University of the Toilers of the East in Moscow.

At university Hattersley joined the Socialist Society ( SocSoc ) and was one of those responsible for changing its name to the " Labour Club " and affiliating it with the non-aligned International Union of Socialist Youth rather than the Soviet-backed International Union of Students.

Originally, the three youth organisations, the CPN-linked General Dutch Youth League, the PSP-linked Pacifist Socialist Young Working Groups and the PPR-linked Political Party of Radical Youth refused to merge under pressure of the government, who controlled their subsidies they did merge to form DWARS.

Shortly afterwards, Drnovšek was elected president of the Liberal Democratic Party ( Liberalno demokratska stranka – LDS ), the legal successor of the Association of Socialist Youth of Slovenia ( Zveza socialistične mladine Slovenije – ZSMS ), the youth fraction of the Communist Party of Slovenia.

For example, East Germany was ruled by a " National Front " of all anti-fascist parties and movements within parliament ( Socialist Unity Party of Germany, Liberal Party, Farmers ' Party, Youth Movement, Trade Union Federation, etc .).

Most of these conferences, and in particular the elections held at them, are contested by factions including Conservative Future, Education Not for Sale, Labour Students, Liberal Youth, National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts, the Organised Independents, Socialist Students, Socialist Workers ' Student Society, Student RESPECT and Student Broad Left.

The more leftist members of the Democrat Party became involved in the leadership of labor unions and broke off to launch the Socialist Workers ' Party ( – POS ) in 1912.

Following the collapse of the ruling Communist Party in Yugoslavia, Croatia adopted a new constitution in 1990 – which replaced the 1974 constitution adopted by the Socialist Republic of Croatia – and organised its first multi-party elections.

Later on, during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, this French revolutionary principle – though not of course its specific way to identify the “ general will ” – percolated into first Socialist and then Fascist political thinking.

The Republican government was supported by a number of factions with conflicting aims, including the Workers ' Party of Marxist Unification ( POUM – Partido Obrero de Unificación Marxista ), the anarcho-syndicalist Confederación Nacional del Trabajo and the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia ( a wing of the Spanish Communist Party, which was backed by Soviet arms and aid ).

In Part 2 of The Road to Wigan Pier, published by the Left Book Club, Orwell stated: " a real Socialist is one who wishes – not merely conceives it as desirable, but actively wishes – to see tyranny overthrown.

Between the restoration of democracy and the Greek government-debt crisis the party system was dominated by the liberal-conservative New Democracy ( Νέα Δημοκρατία – Nea Dimokratia ) and the social-democratic Panhellenic Socialist Movement ( Πανελλήνιο Σοσιαλιστικό Κίνημα – Panellinio Sosialistiko Kinima, ΠΑΣΟΚ / PASOK ).

In 1949 the Soviets turned control of East Germany over to the Socialist Unity Party, headed by Wilhelm Pieck ( 1876 – 1960 ), who became president of the GDR and remained officially ' Number One ' until his death in 1960, while most executive authority was assumed by SED General Secretary Walter Ulbricht.
