The tombs of several saints are housed in the interior, including those of Justine, St. Prosdocimus, St. Maximus, St. Urius, St. Felicita, St. Julianus, as well as relics of the Apostle St. Matthias and the Evangelist St. Luke.

St. Stephen's Church was consecrated by John Matthias Turner, Bishop of Calcutta, on November 5, 1830.

Also in 1850 he designed, without polychromy, St Matthias in Stoke Newington, with a bold gable-roofed tower.

Matthias Röhrig Assunção also notes that St. Anthony is often identified with Ogun in Bahia.

St. Matthias School on Bacon Street, off Brick Lane, is over a century old and uses the Seal of the old Metropolitan Borough of Bethnal Green as its badge and emblem.

St Matthias Old Church is located on Poplar High Street, opposite Tower Hamlets College.

Although Stoke Newington contains only one Grade I listed building ( St Matthias Church ), it contains a fair number of Grade II * buildings for one London district.

She married Sir William Henry Gregory, a widower with an estate at Coole Park, near Gort, County Galway, on 4 March 1880, at St Matthias church in Dublin.

In 1920 the family moved to Torquay when Ward's father became Vicar of St. Matthias.

Basil's treatise on virginity ; thirty nine discourses of St. Ephrem the Syrian, and many other works of the Fathers and writers of the Greek Church.

In 1811, he became vicar of St. Peter's Church in Hartshead in Yorkshire.

Ælfheah refused to allow a ransom to be paid for his freedom, and as a result was killed on 19 April 1012 at Greenwich ( then in Kent, now part of London ), reputedly on the site of St Alfege's Church.
