For some time Gomel was captured by Smolensk prince Rostislav Mstislavich but then was re-captured by Iziaslav III Davidovich after whose death it belonged to Sviatoslav Olgovich and then to Sviatoslav's son Oleg.

Casimir was supported in his rebellion by his elder brother Duke Mieszko III the Old of Greater Poland, the magnate Jaksa of Miechów and Sviatoslav, son of Voivode Piotr Włostowic, as well as the Archbishops of Gniezno and Kraków ; also, almost all Leeser Polish nobility was on his side.

Prokofiev had time to write his postwar Sixth Symphony and a ninth piano sonata ( for Sviatoslav Richter ) before the Party, as part of the so-called " Zhdanov Decree ", suddenly changed its opinion about his music.

He contended with a senior relative, Sviatoslav Vsevolodivich, for over two years before Sviatoslav eventually won power for himself and became the uncontested ruler of Kiev.

The tryzub was stamped on the gold and silver coins issued by Prince Vladimir the Great ( 980 – 1015 ), might have inherited the symbol from his ancestors ( such as Sviatoslav I Igorevich ) as a dynastic coat of arms and passed it on to his sons, Sviatopolk I ( 1015 – 19 ) and Yaroslav the Wise ( 1019 – 54 ).

Sviatoslav Iaroslavich ( 1027 – December 27, 1076, Kiev ) was the Prince ( Kniaz ) of Chernihiv from 1054 to 1073 and Grand Prince ( Veliki Kniaz ) of Kiev from 1073 until his death.

Sviatoslav readily launched a campaign with a vast force ( 60, 000 troops ), and routed the Bulgarians on the Danube and defeated them in the battle near Silistra, seizing some 80 Bulgarian fortresses in 968.

In Lviv, Petliura lived under the name of Sviatoslav Tagon working alongside Ivan Franko, Volodymyr Hnatiuk publishing and working as an editor for the " Literaturno-Naukovy Zbirnyk " Journal ( Literary-Scientific Collection ), the Shevchenko Scientific Society and as a co-editor of " Volya " magazine.
