A New Railroad Town: The town of Ellsworth was named in honor of Eugene Ellsworth of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and came into existence as a result of construction of the Burlington Railroad in the summer of 1884.

It is bounded on the north by Washington Township in Burlington County ; on the east by Egg Harbor City ; on the south by Hamilton Township ; and on the west by the Town of Hammonton.

The Town of Chesterfield is in the northeastern part of the county and is west of Burlington, VT, south of Plattsburgh, south of Montreal, Quebec, and north of Albany.

The Town of Jay in on the north border of the county and is southwest of Plattsburgh, west-southwest of Burlington, VT, south of Montreal, Quebec, and north of Albany, NY.

The Town of Burlington is in the northwest part of the county and is north of Oneonta.

The town was established from the Town of Burlington in 1808.

The Town of Pittsfield was formed from part of the Town of Burlington in 1797.

It is politically part of the Town of Burlington, together with Browns Lake, Wisconsin.

The majority of the land is owned by the Town of Burlington, which has kept it as open space since acquiring it by eminent domain in 1985.

Burlington is governed by a 108 member representative Town Meeting ( 18 representatives elected per precinct ) and a five-member executive Board of Selectmen.

Although around 1830 a small Potawatomi village stood in what is now the Town of Burlington, there was no Native American settlement in the area encompassed by the present city.

On March 9, 1839, Burlington township, including at the time what is now the Town of Dover and much of Brighton, was separated from Rochester.

Together with the Town of Milton, the Town of Oakville and the City of Burlington, the Regional Municipality of Halton was formed, replacing Halton County.

Founding of Round Lake: Round Lake was established in 1882 when the Burlington Railroad built a line connecting Lake Park, Iowa, to Worthington, Minnesota.

Burlington City High School serves as a receiving school for students in grade nine through twelve from Edgewater Park Township, as part of a sending / receiving relationship with the Edgewater Park School District.

Edgewater Park Township is a Township in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States and a northeastern Delaware Valley suburb of Philadelphia.

Edgewater Park Township borders Burlington Township, Willingboro Township, Delanco Township, Beverly, and the Delaware River.

Across the Delaware River in Burlington County, New Jersey to the southeast, there are Beverly, Delanco Township, and Edgewater Park Township.

The Burlington Northern tracks along the south end of the lake bed and Devils Canyon were abandoned and removed in the late 1980s, and the right of way became part of the Columbia Plateau Trail State Park.

Five Turnpike interchanges are located in Burlington: Exit 4 in Mount Laurel, Exit 5 in Westampton, Exit 6A in Florence, Exit 6 in Mansfield and Exit 7 in Bordentown.

Highways connecting North Kansas City with the surrounding area are Interstate 29 / 35 / US 71, Missouri Route 1 ( Vernon Street ), Route 9 ( Burlington Street ), Route 210 ( Armour Road ), Route 269 ( Chouteau Trafficway ), and Route 283 ( North Oak Trafficway ).

No interchanges along these highways are located in Springfield, but the closest interchanges that are accessible are Exit 47 ( along I-295 ) in neighboring Burlington Township and Exits 5, 6A and 6 ( along the Turnpike ) in neighboring Westampton, Florence and Mansfield Townships, respectively.
