In the 1989 animated film The Little Mermaid, the animated lead protagonist, Ariel, flashed her navel while wearing only fins & seashells.

She is best known for providing both the speaking and the singing voices of Disney's Princess Ariel in The Little Mermaid and its sequels.

One episode is " Metal Fish ", in which Ariel saves a character named Hans Christian Andersen who is based on the real life author of the original The Little Mermaid, and the encounter inspired the character to " write " the story of The Little Mermaid.

A voice-over at the end of the episode talks about the real Hans Christian Andersen, while the image on the screen shows Ariel sitting on a rock in the style of the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen harbor.

Fertig's televised in-ring debut for the brand on the July 25 episode of ECW on Sci Fi, defeating Little Guido Maritato, with Ariel acting as his valet.

Disney's Hercules, like the animated series Disney's The Little Mermaid, is a spin-off of the 1997 theatrically released animated film of the same name ( Hercules ) and is based on his teen-aged adventures, though it is not a prequel to the film of the same name ( Disney's The Little Mermaid featured tales of a 16-year-old Ariel which occurred before the start of the theatrical film ).
