Jews hold that other nations and peoples are not required ( nor expected ) to obey the Law of Moses, with the notable exception that the only laws Judaism believes are automatically binding ( in order to be assured of a place in the world to come ) on other nations are known as the Seven Laws of Noah.

Thus, as an ethnic religion, Judaism holds that others may have their own, different, paths to God ( or holiness, or " salvation "), as long as they are consistent with the Seven Laws of Noah.

Later, at the Revelation at Sinai, the Seven Laws of Noah were re-given to humanity and embedded in the 613 Laws given to the Children of Israel along with the Ten Commandments, which are part of, and not separate from, the 613 mitzvot.

Long-running political and cultural clashes between the Mexican government and the settlers in Texas were exacerbated after conservative forces took control and the Siete Leyes ( Seven Laws ) of 1835 were approved.

The Seven laws of Noah, which Judaism sees as applicable to all people, prohibit blasphemy.

The chosenness refers to a specific set of responsibilities beyond the Seven Laws of Noah given to all mankind.

In the Talmud, " ger " is used in two senses: ger tzedek refers to a " righteous convert ", a proselyte to Judaism, and ger toshav, a non-Jewish inhabitant of the Land of Israel who observes the Seven Laws of Noah and has repudiated all links with idolatry.

The term originates with the concept of " righteous gentiles ," a term used in rabbinical Judaism to refer to non-Jews, as ger toshav and ger zedek, who abide by the Seven Laws of Noah.
