As Dusk, he pretended to be a mercenary with a quiet, serious personality, and teamed up with Trapster, who had in fact framed him for murder under Norman Osborn's orders by using a duplicate of Spider-Man's webbing to kill a small-time crook called Joey Z.

Trapster manages to use his gun to trap Peter Parker under a museum statue when he gets Flash out of the way.

It was shortly after the formation of the Frightful Four that Pete abandoned his old alias and assumed the more intimidating Trapster ( the " Spider-Man / Human Torch " miniseries depicts the catalyst of the name change to be Spider-Man being unable to stop laughing when Paste Pot Pete introduced himself ).

Trapster unknowingly teamed up with Spider-Man-who was using the alias of Dusk, reasoning that the currently-lone Trapster would need an ally and someone to talk to in his currently vulnerable state-in an attempt to get back at Osborn, and would eventually confess his murder to the police in order to remove Osborn's reason for wanting him dead ( although he kept the identity of his employer secret in case he needed it later ).

Paste-Pot Pete now calls himself The Trapster.

He was rescued by two other adversaries of the Torch: the Sandman and Paste-Pot Pete ( soon after renamed the Trapster ).

However, when the Trapster learned of Spider-Man's survival and returned to finish the job, he would find the web-slinger now in possession of cosmic powers ( eventually revealed to be a manifestation Uni-Power ) with which Pete was easily defeated.

As in other editions, he is endlessly mocked for his " Pete " name and even tries to change it to the Trapster at one point.

Another version of the Frightful Four ( consisting of Wizard, Hydro-Man, Titania, and Trapster ) appears to challenge the Fantastic Four again, only to find themselves dealing with the additional presence of the Black Panther and Storm, who had temporarily joined the Fantastic Four while Reed and Sue were on a second honeymoon to work on their marriage after their separation during the Civil War.

He appears in the episode " Great Power ", where he assembles Klaw, Thundra, and Trapster to form the Frightful Four.

A variation on the Trapster appears in 1602: Fantastic Four as one of the members of the 1602 Frightful Four: " The Four who are Frightful ".

At the end of the episode " Great Responsibility ", it was revealed that Doctor Octopus hired the Frightful Four to attack Peter's school after Trapster planted a bug on Spider-Man from an earlier battle.

It soon get to the part where this episode comes in where Trapster grabs Mary Jane.

In Fantastic Four # 42, we begin by seeing Sue still helplessly imprisoned in the giant plastic bag Medusa had Trapster create.

Their fight was a tie in # 41, but Medusa still bested Sue by directing Trapster to imprison her.

Both the Sandman and Trapster are crushed by falling debris when Bensaylum collapses.

During the events of the Civil War, Hammerhead used the vacuum left by the incarceration of the Kingpin to gain a greater foothold in the ranks of organized crime, attempting to organize an army of costumed villains ( consisting of the Ani-Men V, Answer I, Aura, Bloodshed, Clown, Cyclone III, Discus, Electro, Great Gambonnos, Kangaroo II, Man Mountain Marko, Mauler, Mindblast, Override, Ringmaster, Stiletto, Spot, Squid, Trapster, and Will O ' The Wisp ) to enforce his new criminal empire.

Trapster surrenders when he is confronted by the other three Fantastic Four members after they regain consciousness.

Medusa aids Thing only to be roped up by Trapster.

Upon meeting up with Trapster and Sandman, the mysterious ally of Wizard is revealed to by Llyra.

In a flashback recalled by Spider-Man and Invisible Woman had Spider-Man pulling down Human Torch's pants before the Frightful Four ( consisting of Wizard, Trapster, and Beetle ) attacked them.

1 # 319 she reveals to Captain America that she has a brother and that when she was younger was introduced by him to the super-criminal known as The Trapster.

Her equipment was originally designed and manufactured by the Trapster, but her later design and manufacture was by the Tinkerer.

After he suggested they team up, a suggestion by the Trapster inspired him to form a team that would be a criminal counterpart to the Fantastic Four, with himself, his two rescuers, and Medusa, who was then suffering from amnesia ; becoming the Frightful Four.

With the Trapster, he was also defeated by the reformed Sandman.

After Trapster was captured during a fight with Spider-Man, Wizard led the remaining members of the Frightful Four attack Midtown High in search of Spider-Man ( who had been planted with a tracking device by Trapster during a prior altercation ).

Trapster has often sought independent recognition, battling virtually every " street-level " hero in the Marvel Universe either by design or by opposition to some criminal scheme.

Trapster also attempted to raid the Baxter Building ( just before it was destroyed by Doctor Doom II ) while the Fantastic Four were away participating in the Secret Wars, but embarrassingly fell victim to the security systems and the robot receptionist, thus becoming the first villain to be defeated by an empty building.

Saddened by constant defeats, Trapster would seek out the Tinkerer's aid in redesigning his arsenal.

Later on, during the Identity Crisis story, the Trapster would be hired by Norman Osborn to kill a man and make it seem like Spider-Man did it, and in order to cover this up Osborn put a price on Trapster's head, attracting assassins like the Hand and his previous ally Shocker.

During the Secret War storyline, Trapster was enlisted by Lucia von Bardas, the former prime minister of Latveria and placed in her secret army of technology-based villains.

Madam Medusa then captures Sue with her invincible hair, while the Trapster snares the girl with his sticky paste.

Medusa, along with her evil comrades, Wizard and Trapster, then abduct their helpless captive into the sky.

They go underground and Wizard tells Trapster to place the girl on the floor near the detonation mechanism of his atomic Q-bomb.

Medusa then brilliantly has Trapster place Sue in a chemically treated plastic bag, which is impervious to Sue's invisibility power, making the Invisible Girl helpless.

The line-up consists of Doctor Octopus, Grim Reaper, Lizard, Shocker, Trapster, and Vulture.

The Fantastic Four then easily defeat their opponents, and capture Wizard, Trapster, and Sandman.

He then plans to have Trapster pose as Spider-Man.

The Wizard, Trapster, and Sandman reunite in order to look for a fourth member after Medusa regained her memories.

Wizard, Sandman, and Trapster reunite to hunt down the Fantastic Four after returning from Atlantis.

Wizard later assembled Trapster, Dreadknight, and Man-Bull together as the Frightful Four when it came to abducting Dr. Cargill and forcing him to use his expertise for the Wizard's endeavor.

At the time when Doctor Doom switched minds with Mister Fantastic, Wizard led the Frightful Four ( consisting of himself, She-Thing, Trapster, and Punisher Robot ) in an attack on the Baxter Building.

At the time when Thing was fighting Red Hulk, a new line-up of the Frightful Four ( consisting of Wizard, Klaw, Lyra, and Trapster ) attacked the Baxter Building.
