The Carmel Arts & Design District dedicated to the arts in Old Town Carmel.

Centered at the intersection of Main Street and Range Line Road in Old Town Carmel and flanked by Carmel High School on the east and the Monon Greenway on the west, the Carmel Arts and Design District includes the award winning Carmel Clay Public Library, the Hamilton County Convention & Vistitor's Bureau and Welcome Center and a prodigious collection of art galleries, boutiques, interior designers, cafes and restaurants.

When the towns of Carmel and Patterson were split from Frederickstown in 1795, the remnant, constituting the current Kent, was established as the " Town of Frederick ".

In 1795, Fredericktown township was split up into three parts: the Town of Carmel, the Town of Franklin which was renamed the Town of Patterson in 1808, and the remnant of the town, which was the Town of Frederick for a while, but was renamed the Town of Kent in 1817.

The Catholic Colleges associated with GYC are: Mount Carmel College, Sandy Bay ; St Virgil's College, Austins Ferry ; Dominic College, Glenorchy ; MacKillop Catholic College, Mornington ; Sacred Heart College, New Town ; St James Catholic College, Cygnet ; St Aloysius Catholic College, Kingston will become an associated college in the near future when its first students are ready for senior secondary education in 2013.

Key positiongs within the town government are town manager, appointed by the major, Town Attorney, Town Clerk, Town Engineer and Chief of Police.

The Board of Police was abolished when an ordinance was passed to establish a Mayor and Town Council.

Prior to being elected Sheriff, Ellis served as the Police Chief of the Town of Moundville, in north Hale County.

The Delaware State Police polices Millville under a contract with the Town and the Millville Volunteer Fire Company serves Millville, Ocean View, and unincorporated portions of Sussex County as far east as the Assawoman Canal and as almost as far west as Dagsboro ; it purchased its first motor-driven firefighting vehicle in 1936 and today operates 16 vehicles.

The urban district ( the current Town of Zionsville ) will maintain its Zionsville Police Department protection, as well as other municipal services like road maintenance.

The complex is home to Fishers Town Hall, the Police and Fire Department headquarters buildings, the Fishers Post Office, the Hamilton County Convention and Visitor's Bureau and the Fishers Chamber of Commerce.

The incorporated Town of Brownsburg is served by the Brownsburg Police Department ( BPD ).

The Town Council also serves as the Police Safety Board.

The Town Council as a whole serves in an additional capacity as the Police Safety Board.

A Town Marshal appointed by the Town Council and oversees the Police Department.

The Police Department provide public safety, patrols Town streets, educates the public, and maintains order at public meetings.

Today, Munster's downtown area, the Town Hall, Police and Fire Department headquarters, the Centre for the Visual and Performing Arts, and the Munster Post Office are all situated on Ridge Road.

The Town Council established the Park Board in 1974 but the voters referendum rejected the proposal for a Metropolitan Police Commission.

It is part of the White Marsh Town Center, which includes the White Marsh Mall ; the White Marsh Police Station, which opened in November 1987 ; the Nottingham Post Office, which opened in November 1990 ; and thousands of square feet of retail, industrial and office space, which are still being developed.

The Town Hall, Police Department and Fire Department share a building in the northern quadrant of the crossroads, and the post office and the town's Free Public Library occupy the southern.

Also in the 1950s the Town Hall, Police Headquarters and Municipal Library were constructed at the corner of Liberty and Hillside Avenues.

Law Enforcement in the Town of Hanover is provided primarily by the Chautauqua County Sheriff and the NY State Police with assistance from Silver Creek Police Department.

The Town Council appoints two citizen members, the Middle Township Trustee appoints two citizen members, and the Fire Department appoints one.

The Pittsboro Fire Department serves the Town of Pittsboro and Middle Township.
