* 1948 – Kentucky Air National Guard pilot Thomas Mantell crashes while in pursuit of a supposed UFO.

* 1981 – A local farmer reports a UFO sighting in Trans-en-Provence, France, claimed to be " perhaps the most completely and carefully documented sighting of all time ".

* 1955 – Michael Schenker, German guitarist ( UFO )

In his article, " Gray Barker: My Friend, the Myth-Maker ," John C. Sherwood claims that at age 18, he cooperated when Gray Barker urged him in the late 1960s to develop a hoax – which Barker subsequently published – about what Barker called " blackmen ", three mysterious UFO inhabitants who silenced Sherwood's pseudonymous identity, " Dr. Richard H. Pratt ".

* 1957 – The Levelland UFO Case in Levelland, Texas, generates national publicity.

* 1989 – An official news agency in the Soviet Union reports the landing of a UFO in Voronezh.

Later he was able to develop live-action shows such as UFO ( 1970 ) and Space: 1999 ( 1975 – 77 ).

Three of Sharifi's songs – The Complicated Man, UFO Get-Go and Back Porch – appeared in the film The Thomas Crown Affair.

The town of Fyffe was the location of UFO sightings on Friday and Saturday, February 11 – 12, 1989.

* Howard Menger ( 1922 – 2009 ), UFO contactee whose writings on the subject include The High Bridge Incident, about his initial contact with aliens, when he was ten years old.

The 1970 – 71 British TV series UFO, in the episode " Mindbender " has the lead character, Col. Ed Straker, briefly entering a dimension where he's an actor in a TV series called UFO.

The following year, the late 1970s UFO line-up – Mogg, Schenker, Way, Raymond and Parker – reunited, and the resulting albums were Walk on Water ( 1995 ), Covenant ( 2000 ), and Sharks ( 2002 ).

In his subsequent book, The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects, Ruppelt characterized it as a " good UFO report with an unknown conclusion ".

In his Statement on Unidentified Objects to the House Committee on Science and Astronautics, McDonald made the following remarks regarding types of UFO accounts.

A military aircraft carrying suspicious slag-like material, supposedly from a UFO, crashed in southeast Kelso.

In 2000, Schenker rejoined UFO again and the band released the double CD Covenant ( with Aynsley Dunbar on drums ), which contained a disc of new material and a disc of live classics.

The album initially featured material from heavy metal artists that had influenced Slayer, including Judas Priest, UFO, and Deep Purple.

Palmer continued to publish UFO material in different formats until his death in 1977.

* A 1954 revision of Air Force Regulation 200-2 ( AFR 200-2 ) made all sighting reports submitted to the Air Force classified material and prohibited the release of any information about UFO sightings unless the sighting was able to be positively identified.
