Kurt Busiek took a similar approach with Untold Tales of Spider-Man, a series which told stories that specifically fit between issues of the original The Amazing Spider-Man series, sometimes explaining discontinuities between those earlier stories.

The remainder of the one-shot is composed of reprints of Untold Tales of Spider-Man # 2 and Spider-Man 2099 # 2.

Despite the one-shot graphic novel " Parallel Lives " and Untold Tales of Spider-Man # 16 revealing that Mary Jane discovered Peter's secret when she noticed Spider-Man climbing out of Peter's bedroom window, many comics published before this revelation claimed that she had simply " figured it out ", with the details of how and when left ambiguous to the reader.

Marvel Comics occasionally issued backup features, Untold Tales From the Marvel Universe.

In late February and early March, Marvel launched the Untold Tales of the New Universe, a five week comic event that takes place in a pre-Pitt timeframe in the original continuity.
